scalesntails 118
Have you tried goats milk? Don't know much about ferrets but it might be better for them. Gives you cups of a tea a nice hint of lamb flavour too! :whistling: Quote Link to post

I just give them water now and kibble and the odd scrambled egg and chicken ferrets are VERY lactose intolarent and will be consistently ill if fed cows milk ... all they need to drink is water ... plenty of it if you are feeding dry food ... the best food for a ferret is obviously fresh meat ... but if you cant manage that then dry will do ....... 1 Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
All mammals milk contains sugar (lactose ) some more than others , its the sugars they struggle to digest , to be honest i have never understood why people give milk to ferrets , they dont need it , perhaps its more a human need to give them milk than the ferret, am with socks on this one. good old council pop is all mine get Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
They are animals, let them get on with what they do, unless it is causing obvious problems. It is natural that one will be more dominant than the other. It's only a worry if one is obviously suffering and being denied food in a way that is damaging it's health. As has been said before, cows milk is a no no, but goats or soya milk doesn't contain lactose, so is ok if you want to give it as a treat. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
goats milk also contains lactose ........ Quote Link to post
