gaz 284
walter smith and chelsea ? total DISASTER He isnt good enough to manage chelsea or any of the top teams in the premiership half the top players from other countries who may need to be brought in wont even have a clue who he is As much as it pains me to say it he could easily manage one of the very top teams in England.........and id bet he would be quite successful what happened at everton then? There was a chapel in the club might have put him off Cmon bud is it not about time to take that big lemon oot yer mouth
scothunter 12,609
i dont think i can remember any incident where walter was ever involved in any form of secterian comments or actions,so i really dont think painting him as a bigot is called for.
baw 4,360
Did watty not get sacked from rangers the first time he was manager? He ain't good enough for the prem and besides, who would be arsed with the negative tactics. And before anyone mentions money, he was negative first time round too. Learned it from sourness I reckon. Probably the same will apply with McCoist.

baw 4,360
Lol gaz, why not, they hand them out to any c**t these days. I'm sure in the eyes of the monarchy his ability to win the league in Scotland is enough reason whilst others who dominated Europe with a bunch of glesgae bhoys were over looked... Right before i get labelled as some kind of Walter Smith legend lover i'll say that what he has done doesn't make him a legend in my eyes but i'm sure he does to some. I dont know his stats at Everton cause i dont have alot of interest in English football but just because you dont do great at every club you go to doesn't mean your a terrible manager....Paul le Guen springs to mind.... His style of play although infureating to others is the way he likes to play and if you lift silverware at the end of the season then the supporters would be happy....it goes down in the history books as a win whether the style of play was pish, it was lucky or you got some help along the way. He wont be going anywhere thats a certainty......he has a good waiting for him with the SFA......they might give it 6 months to a year before they appoint him though........ baw 4,360
No one wanted him in English football mate, he was unemployed for a long time. Let's not forget the English fall over themselves for Scottish managers. I agree about the SFA and I think he'll do a good job like the other ex ranger players etc have Here a question, if watty was the Celtic manager instead of lennon do you think Celtic would have won the league? Thats not a dig either, just my opinion. I'm glad to see the back of him, just as much as the rangers supporters were glad to see the back of larsson. Anyway i'm off, have a flight to catch for a cup final
