TOMO 28,573
SIX we have fifty plus holers to contened with so need a good crew to get them out, we had forty rabbits out one day. yo got to be kidding, can i just ask why you would have been carrying 2 or 3 boxes in the past,,,, how many ferrets you carrying?? yep , do huge warrens myself some in excess of 100+ holes streching 100 yards,,,, but i can stil get 6 ferrets in a standard double box,,,,, the worst thing i think is having boxes with seperate compartments,, these realy restict the amount of ferts you can get in there. dont get me wrong me ferts are small to medium, but if you got a trebble box with out the compartments you would get at least 6 big jills in that 1 Quote Link to post

Back to me old hand made box, older than me and still going strong. Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
First of all I have seen this box and its no where near as big as it looks in the picture, the lad who has it on his back is 8 years old thats why it looks huge. Me and Pual along with his Grandson go out every weekend through the winter and often during the summer. This year we have got some good permission and sometimes need lots of equipment. We nearly always ferret dawn till dusk and often take 6 medium sized ferrets with us. We use longnets on some sets and we purse net some sets, we also purse net and long some. We always take between 100 and 250 purse nets and sometimes need plenty of longnets meaning we have to carry two longnet baskets set up with the quickset system(yes we could use traditional longnets to make things easier to carry but we can all use the quickset sytem and prefer it). We take a spade, sometimes a branch lopper, a rake, ect depending on the time of year. By the time we have packed the locators, drinks and everything else the bags get heavy, its sometimes alot for 2 adults and a 8 year old to carry climbing fences and walking up and down the hills, especially with a couple of dozen rabbits. This box is really lightweight and means Pauls grandson can carry all of the ferrets in a backpack and still have his hands free for climbing fences and opening gates. That means me and paul have 2 less ferret boxes to carry between us. As I have already said we do ferret during the summer and I dont think its fair cramming ferrets into small boxes when its hot. We go ferreting to enjoy ourselves and get out, this box is light enough and comfy enough for a 8 year old to carry and its well made, the ferrets will be comfy in it and all in all it will make our life easier for those days when we need a few ferrets and lots of gear. 1 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
Ahhhhhhh makes sense now and has suddenly become a genius idea! But still a mental image of an 8yr old with a ferret hotel strapped to him Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
I actually like the look of that box. I am all for innovations, if not for them then we probably wouldn't even be ferreting. [imagine the first fella who talked about taming a polecat and using it to bolt rabbits... would have been right laughed at, until it worked...]And I am all for anything that makes life easier and this looks as though it would do just that. So, good idea. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
Aye bags have their upsides, but if i counted all the times i go arse over tit in a season, i owe my ferrets continuing existence to my old box! But i do like just having a walk out with just the dog, ferret and maybe a couple of poke/stop nets in my pocket. Box is handy to sit on i the rain. Quote Link to post
The one 8,585
Thats my Favorite type of ferreting as well just a ferret few nets and go aim for just a odd rabbit or two ,but i will never use a bag i went ar*e over tit and the dent i put in a unbreakable flask has to be seen to be believed never mind ferrets in a bag .And where would i sit to keep my backside off the wet grass to drink out my flask ?.
