Romany 1,065
Lovely morning this morning, sun shining catkins swaying in the early Spring breeze, went out hoping to get some bird pics, and this popped out..now this is not in a park, it was less than 20 miles from where I live in mid Northumberland, how it got there is beyond me...Ive hunted for over 40 year in Northumberland, never been away from the Northumbrian countryside in many different capacities, and Ive never seen one of these big fellas wild in Northumberland..he was alone, eventually straying into a field of horses..possibly an escapee, but just dont know where from considering where I clicked him..Just shows with wildlife photography, you just never know what your going to get.. J Darcy 5,871
Romany, Judging by his antlers i would say that it is my belief that this stag is of 'park'deer stock and not wild stock. He is probably a wandering escapee mate.
Romany 1,065
Could be right JD, but not far off Ashington is making me wonder where the hells he from..
Bush Rummager 4,769
What a great find and shot Romay! When you drop onto these big boggers on your doorstep... you're better standing back and snapping away!!!
J Darcy 5,871
Could be right JD, but not far off Ashington is making me wonder where the hells he from.. Sometimes farmers buy them at auction if they are going for a song, other times they escape. Either way, if he were a wild beast you would do well to get near him for i have found the true wild ones to be fairly bloody flighty!! But, living where he does, he may not have a particularly bright future for someones going to have a go....... Great Pics though.....

squint 17
2nd pics a cracker, lucky find Must agree, brilliant pic.. Would it not be in the locals interest to try and leave it be for a few years or would that be to much to ask..
