Well ..................... Now I am NOT saying it's ok to joke about raping a woman,

But they were hardly threatening to actually rape her, nor had she actually been raped, so really ............... I don't see the fuss?

They could as easily have been saying they were going to wash her, or paint her green, I'd have said there was no intention there.

But that's only me, and I'm not normal!

it is however in very poor humour, it shows the garda in a very poor light. i know some local garda who are sound lads, but most are complete wankers on a power trip and im betting the ones in that vid are the latter

It's something that strikes a very deep chord with me, Aaron, for very deeply personal reasons.

Understood mate, and I'm not making light of the act, not at all, just putting the banter between a few probably stressed to fook blokes into perspective.

Like I said, if they were laughing about painting the girl green and one of us had personal experience of the trauma that causes then that would be emotive too.

I understand what you're saying, mate

It takes a lot to get a rise out of me but when rape's mentioned in jest, I'll rise to that.

Cheers

Me and my mates are sick b@stards and joke about stuff like that all the time, it does'nt mean we have and intention of doing it, and as for the personal feeling toward it, close friends and family of mine have died from suicide, cancer, heart atacks and drowning, and a friend of mines grandson was abused by a scumbag, when i hear jokes about these subjects i don't take them as a personal atack on me, there just jokes

only one worse thing then a rapist and thats a woman who lies about being raped and spoling a mans life.

when that happens the woman not only ruins that fellas life but the life of his entire family as they all get tarred with the same reputation.

1 cop is suspended WITH PAY while the investigation proceeds. When the uniform goes on the wearer must be seen to be squeaky clean,as was said today, why would any victim of rape consider proceedings when some of the force find the crime something to joke about.
