Hancock bashing

Its a funny thing... somebody does well at putting Their particular line of dog out and Those that can't or don't bytch about it. I remember doing the same a few years ago... its a mentality thing. It doesn't really mean shyte... just that its a "belonging" to Something. :D I wonder how many shyte-eaters all those in the Bytch Club have produced... my bet is Way More than anyone will ever Hear about because like a club they stroke each other... Only Let Out the Good News you know... ;) Just another case of Wannabee's. :D

This is what I say.... if Harcombe made a living at it.... at least he did something On His Own and not out of the public coffer now did he? And No... I'm not bytching about people that are Needing of public assistance. Plummer... bytch all everybody Wants... he had more dog sense than 99.9%, and now that he's dead... his books are even more sought after... if he was such a twat then why is that? Most that bytch about Plummer do so because he Did what They could not and never will on their own.

jmo... you can take it or leave it... but everybody Knows the TRUTH.

He made his own cross, and the cross became noteworthy I guess.... Isn't that why everybody goes to him.... why they buy them from him? Why don't they go to whoever it is that is bytching? Those buying his aren't the ones complaining.... think about that. If his place is as bad as those bytching make it out to be... why would people continue buying his pups?

The fact is, no matter what you do, somebody will always bytch... for any number of reasons. Why bytch on message boards where the accused would never answer... some of the people mentioned in bytch sessions barely know what a computer is let alone get on one and log into a message board on the internet to defend themselves. heh? It just seems out of place... jmo....

As for Plummer.... he hunted rats, apparently loved doing it.... did or tried His best to make a true rat dog. He also wrote several books with enough genuine authority on several subjects that his books are still sought after. True, there are several books being published in terriers and lurchers, these days it seems everybody is trying their hand at it. Wait 30 or 40 years and see how they fair. Again... jmo.... why do people feel the need to put somebody else down to make themselves look better. In One particular case.... its like kicking a dead horse... literally... now thats pretty damn lame don't ya think? Yeh.... I've heard how some people "deliberately lied to Plummer".... doesn't say much for them does it... and they knew he was going to publish it with their names and they approved it for publishing. Seems a bit odd as well. Jmo....

Oooops.... said Harcombe.... meant Hancock earlier. :D Now why is it nobody bytches about Harcombe... he writes interesting but the paragraphs are Very long. :D:D;)

What all the bashing reminds me of is the commercial where the news channel has a caveman they are insulting and he asks them to excuse the cavemen for not inventing the wheel and fire sooner. ;)

We will have to agree to disagre there DD.He never made his own cross. The Collie cross was being done a long time before Hancock and Plummer came up with there money spinning venture. Most people that buy from him are people that are new to the Lurcher game, they see the advert "we breed some of the best Collie Greyhounds in the World" and off they go to spend there coin.Another reason they go there is he ALWAYS has pups for sale so people buying on a whim can get a pup straight away.Lets not also forget it was Hancock and Plummer who are responsible for breeding a recessive gene on a commercial scale into the lurcher blood pool. You do have a good point however why do people still buy from him ?I have been down to his place a couple of times and its a disgrace. The dogs are kept in shocking conditions and never have any socialising ,its my opinion if you buy from him you are agreeing with the way these dogs are kept.If people stopped buying from him, then he would either have to pack it in or at least sort his place out.At the end of the day when you go there you are not buying a pup on the merits of its parents you are buying a pup because it was bred by Hancock.Yes you will get a genuine cross from there ,but there is also people out there who breed the genuine cross also from true working parents. These litters however are admittedly a bit harder to find and so the easy option is to go straight to Hancock.I have owned a decent 3/4 Hancock (1984) and have also seen a couple of good 5/8 3/8 in the early 90s.But like I said before they are now bred from non working non proven parents.the two 5/8 bred dogs came from there as pups and the 3/4 dog I had came from a friend as a three year old.Thinking back I might have owned the 3/4 dog around 1986.

Good points MC. I really just get tired of the whining. :D Still... some of the ones today that are Doing It need to consider that in time... they won't be either and the fresh lads of that day will be saying the same of them. ;) What goes around, comes around. Best to all. :victory:

Today again we have a prime example of the phobic drivvle that a section of the running dog community come out with, World.hunters asks a question about merle breeding, then its open season on Hancock dogs why dont you lot change the bloody record. Yes his place is a tip, no he does not work his dogs much, yes he is a puppy farmer. How many of you Hancock haters have ever owned one, not many of you who have will admit it if you have, why because to fit in you have to slag them off. Pathetic . The usual drivvle srarts with they cant catch a hare, bulls..t even my half cross can, but no not under coarsing conditions, hundred yards law etc, Lurchers were bred for pot filling not gambling on. Next load of cobblers, all Hancock dogs are sickly and plagued with illness, My vet reckons my two are some of the healthiest well conditioned dogs hes seen, i am not saying hes never sold a dog with a problem, lets just keep it factual. My dogs work for a living, as a rural pest controller i couldnt have mediocer dogs ,they do everything thats asked of them.

I havent always had Hancocks, have had all sorts over the last thirty years, not saying these are the best others were just as good, just saying i am fed up of listening to uninformed crap from people who dont have first hand experience of them, dog ruiners dont count, or the idiot had one of those last week brigade, this week i am trying another sort. Anyone got the balls to actually come out of the closet and admit they have ever given one a fair chance. constructive replies please , not the usual i,ll challenge you to try against my saluki/grey...... on you know the sort of thing.

ive got a hancock 3/4 cross off my mate given to me

he's one of the best fox hunting, kilingand marking lurchers most of you will ever see

send me a pm if you would like tosee nim work

there's good and bad in all dogs dont knock them till you seen them

ive had two hancock dogs both good enough to do rabbit fox in good style both could knock over the odd hare. both bought as young adults from sensible lads :) would'nt knock a dog or its owner becouse the breeder had a manky set up. but would'nt buy one off him as i feel for the animals that are kept in sad conditions. i can comment that a lot of lads have had bad experiences with his dogs so are understandably

a little bitter. if i had a hancock dog now it would not bother me one bit if you slagged the breeder all day long. as long as my dog done the task it was bought for. i am now the proud owner of a plummer terrier and

it seems they are banned on propper terrier sites

s my street cred is down the pan again :laugh::laugh:

i was taught that a good dog is where you find it. and ive found a few over the years :D

:clapper::clapper::clapper: Here we go again,at the end of the day if a dog doe's the business,i really couldn't give a flying f**k who bred it, what colour it is, etc etc.

My Hancock's bitch, has done all quarry (pre ban) and made some fancier bred dog's look proper silly. ;)
