What dogs you use ferreting

i think he bred kizzy to chuckes chuckles bred some good dogs back then not my chioce but saw several not bad dogs out of him the ones out of m chapmans bob and katie were just [bANNED TEXT] for rabbiting and other qaury

still got that line in my kennels young bitch still acts like lalaluke m chapm,ans bob keen as hell and tough with it lke her old mother lana , good dogs should had bred more but cant be assed with it at times pups etc

i use my long haired jack russell reg for marking and digging and blaze my collie/greyhound for bolting..both dogs r good with ferrets but it takes time to get them used to not bitng them..i find practice makes perfect

my best marking/rabbiting dog has been a mongrel collie we got from the dog rescue at 10 weeks old, never let me dowm,covers nets ,marks, bushes ,and even caught his fare share of bolters, through beening in the right place at the right time.He's 15 now and slowing down fast,we've got a beddie/whippet/grey with a bit of kelpie in there at 18 months now but not sure if she'll measure up to him.

cant beat a well brd working lurcher for the rabbiting game marking catching bolters ,geting into awkward bits were there a net set but doesnt purse dog nails it ,or if open buries if they are talented enough just catch them bolting sport for kings

f1 beddy whippet 11 months old and took to ferreting very well, im after a terrier in the next cupple on months to help him tho.

we use a jack russell and a plummer both mark and hold rabbits in the net and are broke to ferrets

JRTxwhippet for me. Hes 3 1/2 now so had enough experience. His mark is good and his concerntration is phenomonal, totally focussed and usually in the right place. Plenty quick enough for bolters too.
