Ferret mischief

Bert the Fert

He's a bit like a toddler, is Bert, in that when he goes quiet you wonder what he's up to. Having noticed the lack of ferret downstairs, hubby had gone to look for Number one fert. Then i get an irate shout from him to come and " Look at the state ! " of our little girls bedroom. [ it's often a tip, and himself is an officer in the tidy police ]

I go upstairs and look at the scene of devastation, but even as himself is huffing at the ridiculous mess, i'm hearing a funny, rhythmic wheezing......

I shush hubby and track the noise to the wrecked bedside drawers where the true culprit, having been exhausted by his toil, has collapsed in what's left of little 'uns underwear drawer and is snoring extravagantly

Gotta love that little monster

:D :D

Does the ferret live loose in the house all the time then? Gotta see it to believe it!

Bert is our solitary hob. He just won't mix with the others so he gets to be house nuisance much more than the group do. He potters round indoors most of the day, and busies himself with building up his stash of goodies under the sofa. I clear it out once a week, and there's generally a pile of dog biscuits, lots of things with rubber on them...Berts got a MAJOR rubber fetish  and the odd mobile phone/Wii remote/dogs tennis ball.

The lurcher doesn't like him, the springer is perplexed by him, and the cat abhors him...... all of which Bert couldn't care less about. If they get in his way when he's trying to do something/get somewhere, he'll just harrass them till they get the hint and bugger off.

We didn't have the heart to move him out of the drawer last night, and when i got up at 6 this morning, he was still there, snoring contentedly. He's had his morning rampage, some of hubby's cuppa, an egg, and now he's back in his hutch for a siesta :)
