Ultra Butt mod.

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.

Well, I got the hammer out today and made the adjustments to the Ultra stock.

Have added an adjustable butt plate with a spacer, giving me a much nicer feel in the shoulder.

The extra half an inch has made the reach nicer too.

Its a Bisley model, srewed it onto the stock, lined it up, and then drew around it with a marker pen, then off to the shed to grind off the excess material so it fits the contour of the butt.

Had to drill and countersink a new bottom fixing, as the origanal is to close to the bottom of the stock after you grind it to fit.

Not the prettiest of mods, but functional.

Hey Bill,

Looks like a nice tight, tidy lil' butt that.

How much would you say you took off around the sides?

Phantom

Hiya Tony.

Cheer's mate  .

At the top of the round ( combe ) its nearly a perfect fit, but took off about 10 mil at the bottom round.

Easy to do, because its made from alluminium mate, a file would do it no problem.

Hiya Shay.

I did not make this stock mate  it came off an Ultra.

Thanks for the compliment anyway buddy

Making a stock is a challenge, but if you go about it slowly and think it through you can do it mate.

Best tools for the job were a spokeshave and wood rasps, it is supprising how quickly it all comes together mate.

Have a read of what I said in the Custom stock thread, you can do it buddy.

I am no carpenter believe me, but time and patience and the stock was born

Go on.......order a plank mate and have a go, be something to do on them horrible days/nights.

I bet Brendon would love to help with it too
