Another new permission

Recommended Posts

Well I got another new permission a couple of weeks ago, basically farmers son has second bigger farm and farmer sent me down to the other farm last week to sort out crows ripping the bales open, plus pigeons, wabbits and foxes that are all not welcome on this land, oh and plenty of stray pheasants.

Had a chat with young farmer, to find out boundaries etc 350 acres :)

So I went for a proper wander round today with air rifle and shotgun to suss out the lie of the land. Well it was pretty cold and there are a few places to hide up, but on the whole the crows were well out in the middle of the fields, but after some gentle coaxing with crow calls, I managed to get 'photos' ;) of 3 of them.

No wabbits about and the pheasants were so close it wouldnt have been sporting.

The picture has the Snowdonia mountains all snow covered in the distance and shows just a small portion of the land available to me, basically too much to fit on camera phone, but you get the idea, then about 3 times as much land out of sight on picture left and about the same behind, both left and right of where I took this photo.

Its mainly sheep farming with some smaller crop fields, a few copse areas about 45mins walk up hill and a couple of other wooded areas 3 fields down.

So I have plenty of exploring to do here, and if the weather holds this week,think we are in for a lot of snow though, then I may try to get over there again tomorrow or Friday and get settled in one of the woods.

Cheers buddy :notworthy::notworthy:

Maybe after I get back from Germany (off to stay with Si & Laura for a bit) I'll amass some pennies and get down to you.

Last time I was in your area was July 96. Climbing Snowdon (not using the tourist route either). Suffered quite severe heatstroke on the way back down :thumbdown: Jeez it was hot. Yet the following day it was persistantly precipitating AKA Pissing Down.

Remember the day very well :yes:

We thought the Mountain and S&R teams were on excercise on the Craig Goch Ridge. I found out a few days later that a man from London on a Team building excercise from the Met had fallen and died :cry:

Just reminds you that in amongst all that natural beauty and splendour, were all still mortal.

I'd love to come and shoot with you. As soon as I can :thumbs:
