Thank You Bert The Fert

Recommended Posts

I've met a few people on this forum, and made a few new friends. Today I made a new one in Bert the Fert :D We've chatted back in forth in pm's, and met today at my house for the first time. We spent the day nattering and laughing in my kitchen, while Bert taught me a few culinary things while deftly avoiding stepping on my kitten  We've made enough nosh to last a week :icon_eek: Steak and kidney pie, mince mix for various uses, stuffed chicken breasts, pumpkin risotto ...

Sometimes folks come on here and complain that all anyone does is bitch and argue and they go on about this place being all manner of bad things. But that isn't always the way - maybe we just get what we give?

In any case I wanted to say thank you to Bert for a thoroughly enjoyable day and for showing me some of her considerably delicious tricks.

Very much looking forward to next time

Ohh bless you :) I had a brill time doing two of my very favourite things; yakking and cooking ! And i can't wait for our next session. Just count yourself lucky that you still have a kitten. It took every ounce of self control not to stick her in me pocket on the way out

Don't forget, if you get stuck on any of the prep, gimme a bell !

That's brill, and it's right made my day :D

I was thinking about your tea, while i was having mine. Himself periodically demands junk food, and last night i had to eat hotdogs with fried onions and mustard  I know i'd have sooner been eating what we cooked yesterday

It was cabbage with bacon, onions and cream :D Pumpkin risotto and bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breasts. Easy enough once you do it ... just not something I'd have thought of doing.

Steak and kidney pie on the menu tonight, with parsnip and sweet potato garlic mash. I let the kids taste the steak and kidney last night when I took it out of the oven and they loved it. Oh and Bert ... the superhero surprise when down a treat, tho one of the kids did complain about the leeks  Three clean plates

Poor Bert having to eat hotdogs ... I've yet to find a hotdog in this country that compares to the ones back home. I was horrified when I discovered you guys actually sell them packed in tins

Oh and about that kitten: I briefly considered parcelling her up and shipping her to you when she ran across my mildly thumping post-too-many-ciders head at 7am this morning
