As well as the airgunning I also like t try my hand at the old fluff chuckingevery now and then....

 

Well on Sunday morning I decided to go fly fishing with a mate to a trout fishery about 40mins away from home.

We got there about 0830 with a light fog on the water and quite a thick haw frost....

The first fish came after an hour on the water taken on a Dawsons Olive and then only a few pulls till just after 1200 when the second fish was taken on a bloodworm.

The rest came between 30 & 10 mins before finish time of 1500 totalling 5 fish for 12lb 7oz.

Only got a picture of the first 3 though as my battery was going flat on my phone.....

Been there and done that with the sea fishing both beach and boat. Me n wor kid used to have our own boat moored on the Tyne. 28'x10' ex lifeboat. Cracking sea boat it was too.

My eldest son does a bit of fly fishing, he puts them all back to catch again (i htink he should be bringing them for me!!, i love butter baked trout!!)

He's turned to pike fishing now (dunno if it's anything to do with the season or not??)

 

I just starteed splodging again after a 20 year layoff!! (went three times last week- enjoyed every minute of just apart from when i nearly slid into the river on the mud

Nice fish there mate, i learned to fly fish as a kid and then turned to carp fishing. i often wonder if im still any good.
