JoeD 24
They are completely safe to feed the ferrets, the disease ONLY effects other rabbits. Joe Quote Link to post

The one 8,597
Perfectly safe its a rabbit only disease, but if they are just starting with myxi i would feed them to my ferrets ,if they have had myxi for a while the flesh appears watery and there covered in lumps and theres no feeding value in them Quote Link to post

Gut them and have a look, if it just looks like crap, chuck it, but if its just started around the eyes and the body is ok - then it's no problem. I've eaten plenty of mixi rabbits when i been broke and had little choice. One thing - if they are all over your mountain. . . . . cull the f**k out of them as hard as you can. Quote Link to post
The one 8,597
Aye hit them hard and the ones that recover might still have time to breed .Its always the same a warm autumn and myxi strikes Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Aye Ah fukin hate myxy !! I still get farmers telling me to leave the myxy rabbits alone (in the hope it will kill all) never done it, never will. Pest control or not, I cull myxys on site in the hope that the recovered rabbits will breed immune for a few seasons. b*****d disease ATB Edited September 17, 2010 by Rake aboot Quote Link to post

Myxie only affects rabbits ,you can give them to your pugs without any worries. Myxie is all over my permission at the moment my dogs have been picking them up daily, and [after suitable time in the freezer ,rabbits not dogs] ], eating them daily. Quote Link to post
