R0G3R 11
yes, a whopping 57fpe !! In Botswana the guys dont have laws regarding the hunting of game with air rifles, there they use these rifles to hunt jackal, duiker, steenbok and even Impala. In South Africa we have no limit on the fpe of the air rifles, but you may not hunt with them. But Pest Control is allowed in certain areas on certain species. Roger! Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
That looks like a proper bit of kit! Got to agree with Nathgoon though, a CF's MUCH better for the bigger stuff.... So do I but he never mentioned the bigger stuff, he just said "no thanks mate ill stick to my ,.243 " He could have been talking about BlueTits for all we knew. His reply just sounded condescending to me (perhaps not meaning to be, but thats how it read). I interperated the remark to be "57 ft/lbs is still puny compared to the 2021 ft/lbs in my .243" Hence my reply. Perhaps a longer reply making his intentions known clearly would have avoided my comments. My appologies if I did miss-interperet the reply the wrong way. Phantom Quote Link to post

matt_hooks 188
Being pernickety, the ME is 56.16 ft.lb, that .84 is important! And yes, it might be puny compared to a .243 (or even a .22LR) but then the .243 is puny compared to the .50, which in turn is puny compared to a 20mm cannon, which is puny compared to a.......... It's horses for courses really. Not much point using a .50, or even a .243, for shooting small game. Granted it'll get the job done, but like elephants mating it'll only be achieved with a lot of noise and mess (though unlike elephants mating it won't take 2 years to get any results!)
