Catcher 1 639
If Celtic took to the field with this logo i would burn my shirts. 19 August 2010 The League Against Cruel Sports has announced that it is to become a major sponsor of the Leeds United Ladies football team. The League, together with the Ringways Group, and kit suppliers Macron will feature on the Leeds United Ladies kit for the 2010-2011 season. The League will become the club’s first shorts sponsors, thanks to an anonymous donation to the club in their name. The sponsorship is the first of its kind in the women’s game. “Part of our original mission was the promotion and support of sports such as football,” said Steve Taylor, Head of Campaigns & Communications at the League. “The donation to the club in our name means we can encourage more people to take part in ‘cool’ sports rather than cruel sports, and we look forward to working with Leeds United Ladies this season.” Steve Russell, Managing Director of Ringways Group, said, “The Ladies team has been in the top flight for the past decade, and even with the creation of the new Super League, the club is capable of attracting quality players and coaching staff. Together with the constant stream of new talent coming through the Centre of Excellence, Leeds United Ladies has a bright future ahead of it, and we want to be part of that. The new sponsors bring in the financial stability which was lost when Leeds Metropolitan University pulled their funding – and the club’s Super League application – in January this year. “It’s great to see that, despite everything that’s happened recently, there are people out there who belief that women’s football is worth investing in, “said Leeds manager Gemma Grainger. “We've had great support as well from with Leeds United, particularly from Shaun Harvey, Ken Bates and the Board. It's been a rush to get things like kit sorted but everyone has worked hard behind the scenes at Leeds United, and we can't thank them enough – we've really been made to feel like part of the family once again. "Hopefully we can bring some stability to club after the trials of the last six months and move things forward, both on and off the pitch, starting with our opening league fixture next Sunday at Millwall.” The new sponsors will take part in a photocall at the club's ground in Leeds next month. Hi bud not having a go at leeds united in any way.Just gets my hackels up why any so called registered charity has so much money that they can sponsors a football club. They say an anonymous donation ? Leave that up to opinion.A charity that states it has no political bias maybe they should stay out of sports too because they dont mix well.atb Catcher:thumbs:

andyfr1968 772
I've always lived in Leeds and I don't give a feck about football. I've no problem with folks who do but that's just given me one more reason to not like it....
