bullmastiff 615
Been looking through puppy posts and rescue centres for a lurcher and found this on Lurcher link. http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54158 Poor old girl obviously put everything into a lifetime of work and then just got starved and then dumped when she became ill. Some people are just heartless b*****ds. So much for a comfy sofa to retire on in old age.. Quote Link to post

stroller 341
look on here how many lurchers are swapped sold or moved on even at young ages. i dont agree with it, a dog is with me for life. no matter what it or my own short comings are its a working relationship. the very best analogy i have come across is that of tool box dogs taken out and used to hunt then disposed of whenever the owner suits. im not soft i am not very liberal monded but i do have a love and compassion for my dogs. every dog with the right up bringing gives 100% of its potential. dogs are a much maligned species and being partnered with the human race does them no favours in this modern age. the constant search for the perfect lurcher is in itself a dream whats perfect for one man isnt for another so why chop and change a saluki hybrid for a bull x for a beddy x for a deerhound x ad infinitum????? there is a dog home near me full of young lurchers and its just down to peoples whims Quote Link to post

bullmastiff 615
It's not the damage she's taken that gets me, Bull crosses can take a lot of punishment in their line of work, it's the fact she'd been dumped after giving her all for someone. Like Stroller said she's probably been handed from pillar to post working hard for anyone and everyone and probably dropping pups for them all then just dumped. Quote Link to post
