stealthy1 3,964
Yo you airgunners, went for a wander around some of the little bits of shooting land I have permission on, purely to see what was about, due to the crap rainy weather we have had lately I fancied something close to home with a bit of cover if it pissed down, so a garden center I look after was my chosen venue, and as I walked around pretending to be a customer buying plants, I was adding up the ears hopping around in the grass at the back fence of the center So I arived at the center gates at 7 in the evening, opened the double gates, got back in my motor, into first gear and, bollocks, one of the gates had blown half shut, so I shoved it back again, ran and jumped in the motor, and stuff me if it did'nt shut on me again, so I jumped out of the motor again mumbling the word b***ard under my breath, when the old boy that owns the center came over laughing, three little scallies stole me gate chains the other day that I use to hold back the gates, I gave chase but the little f**kers were to fast for me stealth he said, I'll keep my eye open for them, and put my boot up their arses if I catch them I replied So I set off to stake out a spot at the back of the center behind the playground, this is the spot in the first pic, the hill you see has a kiddies slide mounted on the other side, and before anyone asks, yes I love having a go on the slide and the swings, and the roundabout, your never to old to have ten minutes on a swing This is the type of shooting I enjoy if I need to chill, no trudging across fields, just a sit and wait approach. Rabbits can hop out anywere down the fence here, so it pays to know your milldots It was'nt long before the first rabbit showed it face through the mesh, WHACK! And it was on its back catching a few rays. Its not a good idea to pick up after a shot here because it can spook other rabbits back in their warren if they see you, so I just leave them until I pack up, some times its a good thing, I've had a few easy shots when rabbits have hopped over to see why their best mate has stopped breathing, and while they are lent over giving the kiss of life to their buddy, I whack that one too Which is how I bagged number two. Number three was one of those scatty little rabbits that frustrates you by eating on the move, and having a mad dash at its mates, but it did sit still long enough in the end, another one destined for the ferrets And this is how it went all evening, five came into range and got whacked, one tried to sneak back under the fence, but he was'nt sneaky enough, so he got whacked, this is the pic of the sneaky ones demise. There were four more pairs of ears that kept popping up out of a flat topped hole, but not far enough out of the hole to get a good shot at, but they will still be there on my next visit, so they will keep And on to the end of day shot, made more difficult by my dog rearanging the rabbits to lap up the blood, and no strawberry sauce on the patio this time, as my Mrs kindly pointed out, good job it was dark thats all I can say Keep at them you gunners, there's plenty out there atb stealthy. 6 Quote Link to post
