Collie grew

I haven't heard that many people talk about collie grews, (heard Whin mention them a few times), but the ones that have seem to talk quite highly of them. I think i have seen the odd one knocking about at chatsworth show over the years and i think david sleight had one in the obedience comp, but apart from that it all seems to be collie greyhounds. So is a collie grew classed as b.collie cross (racing) whippet/greyhound eg 50% border 25% whippet 25% greyhound or can just a non ped racing whippet be used that has a touch of greyhound in it? Also how do these compare to collie greyhound first crosses at general rabbiting? Does anybody have any pics or experiences with this cross?

TBH most of them i have come across have mostly been produced by breeding a grew over a collie grey bitch and most of D,Slieghts dogs 25 years ago were nearly all collie lurchers that were bred to other collie lurchers then adding grew to sharpen them up a bit.atb dell

ghd, is something you use to straighten your hair with, dont have much call for it myself but the mutts look beautifull after it,,

Grew is a Whippet/Greyhound <BR>And Ghd or Gh is Greyhound, <BR><BR>The ones iv mostly seen were collie hybreds types put to grew of some discription,<BR>Dont seem to see many straight Collie/Grews..

She is just under 22 but at 15 months she might just get there. Very smart little dog but she keeps finding barbed wire where you think there is none

 

me and her get along fine she did a nice little retrieve of a pheasant poult the other day that another dog had caught and she had stolen. first retrieve of feathered game i was chuffed to bits. i have worked hard with her we are now at a click of the fingers for heel and a squeak of the lips for recall all handy stuff for this up and coming ferreting season. the ears dont stay in one position they have a life of their own

colie grews are handy dogs i bred them up for other qaurry but still get the odd one 23 but racy and ver spunk attimes

Or maybe it's a Norn Iron thing? My Granda used to have a wee bet on the grews when the gee gees were not bringing him much luck!

 

To others on here grew seems to mean greyhoundxwhippet?
