Recommended Posts

hi guys ive got my three ferrets on tinned cat food and dry mixer, but my [bANNED TEXT] is feeding his fresh shot woodies , his seam to be growing a lot quicker then mine , should i try mine on woodies or keep them on wet and dry with a rabbit once a week?

get them on fresh rabbit pigeon squirrel and anything else you trap or shoot tinned stuff is no good mate

i feed mine on tinned dog food which is full of protein and mine are growing and maturing much faster than my mates ferrets.

Tinned dog food gives nothing to the ferret i feed mine on a diet of ferret biscuit but mainly rabbit and even the odd pheasant, dont feed dog food if you dont have a supply of meat or ferret biscuits cat food is better for them.

Yep even cat foods has more neutritional value than dog food.

Better still is kitten food, as it has a higher protein content(as a stop gap measure or treat). Due there physiology ferrets require a much higher % protein than most domestic animals in their diet( typically in excess of 36%)which is not readily available in prepared food other than ferret specific feed.

If your gonna wean em why not soak the dry mix til it becomes like porridge.

Done this for the past 2 years and it works a treat!
