Simoman 110
never done much with GSD's......are they as intelligent as say....border collies, as they are shepard dogs aren't they?? would of thought they'd make great dogs! have been interested in them as well....i liked the sound of someones belgium malinois x but think a first x would be slow....what do they compare to?? Well I have been fortunate to train dozens of different breeds and in MY opinion labs, collies and shepherds are the most easily trained and can adapt to a variety of tasks. I think a first cross shepherd or malinios would be fast enough for rabbits and if you live somewhere its legal fox too, although I wouldn't have thought it would have enough speed for deer or hare Quote Link to post
whin 463
thye may not be fast enough on winter wheat etc but can hunt a wood out an push game out, for a faster dog plus at night when roe hit cover they can thrash in the woods better than saluk crosses and maybe good gaurd dogs , take the weather dont, lose condition if your out nightly, they have there uses mate ,big strong dogs etc Quote Link to post

jacob 28
1979keeper any pictures yet matea mate of mine had one for about 10 years big strong ginger dog, half cross,he was a fecker with other dogs ,excellent guard ,mind of his own,he took deer single handed ,developed a taste for lamb though and would sneek off the first chance he got ,he had to have a lot of holidays away with friends,i dont think theyre as popular now because its hard finding decent german shepherds ,they all seem to suffer badly with hip problems, and slope backs. F.R. 2
Whin, I've heard of Steve Barton, Dave Skleight did an article in EDRD years ago. What happened at the Amman valley show? It's a cross i'm interested in. These are two of my dogs bred from European Schutzhund lines. Do a little work with them..... That one on the left looks old Korbelbach/Barenfang blood. Nice looking dogs. Quote Link to post

Been breeding GSD for a while now because I dont touch show stuff only long coated white or black you cant show them backs are nice and flat stong boned highly inteligent racy type. Steve Bartons dogs are a fine example of GSD X Greyhound inspired me to breed my White bitch who has a fantastic nose turn of speed and strike Quote Link to post
