bird 10,014
great animal, clever, tough, pre ban liked to hunt them with lurchers day+night, got more of a buzz with them than any other quarry. Caught a few (on foot) when i had my bullxs, but lost quite a few as well, they can twist+turn like a feckin hare great animal. Seen some 70lb lurchers that dont like to tackle them, then you get a little black terrier that will tackle them hope old charle never fades away
Lab 10,979
Well i dont have respect for them.......they have cost me lots over the years and thats why they cant have my respect. Walking round a pheasant pen picking up hundreds of headless birds is enough for me to dislike them. I would never treat them badly and an instant kill would always be my main aim, i laugh when i read shit like "not a true hunter if you dont have respect for a fox"............what a load of utter garbage

Not all shooters are hunters. As someone who is a member of a quite big DIY syndicate and as someone who used to buy 20/30 days shooting a year plus once working as a full time keeper id say a massive percentage of the shooters Iv met dont deserve to be called hunters or fieldsports men. Iv hated certain foxes and have sworn deadly revenge at all cost on some but have never lost my respect for them. I certainly have more respect for foxes than some of the night gunmen we have around, thinking they are the dogs plums after calling up a milky starving vixen, miles away from the nearest pheasant or lamb, "derrr its pest control innit"

Al keep on doing what i am doing and that is knocking over any fox that strolls onto my land looking to cause destruction.
Simoman 110
Anybody who dosent have respect for them imho is not worthy to hunt them. My sentiments exactly.......

Probably would be....if there was ever a ban on pheasant shooting then i would have to give up my business and have to choose another carrer path. If i had to do that then i probably wouldn't shoot another fox ever again, i dont do it for sport i do it to protect my birds. But to ask somebody to respect an animal that has no regard for any living thing is alien to me. From a young age i have been told to respect pheasants(wear a tie when i am shooting and always carry dead birds with the head) but never to respect the fox. I cant see that changing and i dont see any wrong in it either.
