Talking about a "Kurdish" is a bit like talking about a Minshaw, or a Plummer ! Saluki's are a breed in the middle east, but different tribes have different dogs !! Some areas they are smooth, other areas they are well hairy !! Your "Taigan" "Sloughi" "Azawak", etc are from the same Bedu breeds !! If you spoke Arabic; Saluki and Sloughi are the same thing !! I'm not knocking the pure Arabic Saluki, in fact I think we need more of them here, but lets not make them into some mythical beast !!

people from one tribe aren't going to turn down the use of a top hunting saluki from anther tribe just because it may have longer hair or shorter, if it can do well at what a hunting saluki is meant to do their going to use it, its only show people who bred for looks and everyting bred has to look the same.

carnt really be arsed with getting into a raging argument over this ,butit may be a matter of oppinion , what is termed as pure !remember not so long ago speaking to a very well known breeder in the u/s her attitude was ,,well if it walks like a duck it is ! not sure i agree with that .yes it has to be , fit for purpose ...primarally hunting .coulor shape and size well thats another issue

 

well i know the one i would rather have and thats a saluki that you can run on almost any type of land has plenty of stamina and can catch what its after . What they look like, ill leave to the show people and the ones who want a new breed to sell and make money off.

well to me its not were it comes from its what they have done in the feild its the only place that levels good from not so good and down [bANNED TEXT] bad but alot of pure breeders havent the heart to pt sleep bad dogs mate ,hope yours gets bags of game and keeps the freezer filled ,and you can tell us how she progresses as ahunting dog

a truthfull answer would be ,the line bred lurchers may well be better ,but thats not what im about ,told you before ive kept running dogs for 40 years ,i know the game ,but like to think pure stuff of any breed is baseline stuff for breeding lurchers , and like all base line needs to be the best possible we willse .. speed ,feet bone ,stamina, instinct if the mixtuer comes together well we will see like all the ingrediants are there its in the breeding ..we will see

what do they course hares foxes ,saw vids on dogs in the mountains rough terrain ,alot of saluks over here well they would be off to the pet cemetry , or a good caring home tiod with the idea to get one but thought no beter than i have so left it on the back bioler , for a while,the ones saw in the usa some were good dogs alot were bad owners with no hunting knowledge or feild craft at times so the dogs were oly ever as good as the owners at times which was poor , is it the same here poor hunting owners with no knowledge or real feild craft to get the best out of a dog, as most real hunting enthusaisaits dont have pures
