rossy08 33
Had the day off last tuesday so hoped in the van with carl to go up to the farm, only this time carl was working and i was off shooting for the day droped me off in to on of the lower feilds set off up to where i know theres warrens galor. half was up the first feild gun on back saw my first peir of ears. nelt down pulled the gun round, stood up slowly just in time to see him dissapear in to the rape. never mind carried on. turned in to the feild i was hedding to and bunnies every where, they scatterd as they saw me so made my way up and got to posssision, a very short wait and they were out again. small kit in the scope let the shoot of. now dont ask me how or what the hell i did, bear in mind the gun was rested on a fence post. was a little closer than my zero but some how i managed to hit it right through the spine nearly half way down its back. not good short run an a snaped neck later i was well puzzeled. not a good shoot and not happy about it. right first things first rechecked the zero, all fine. like i say just dont no what happend. had a few more laps of the 3 feilds that i was in and things were getting quiet on the bunni frount as it was getting around 10am. hears a couple of snaps of one of the feilds to show you the size of them. now after a 4 mile or so walk go to another part of the permission as i was about to walk of the road on to the permission was stoped dead in my trackes by a bunni sat right in the middel of the path. right gun out the bag loaded poped around the corner and took the shoot free hand and standing, shoot was around 30 meters right on my zero smack behind the eye. looked around the feilds and the rape so high couldent have see a cow never mind a wabbit. oh well nearly dinner time so headed back to where carl was working to have some dinner. little did i know this was another 4 odd miles away. never seams that far in the van..gutted. carls brother james managed to get a pigeon on the farm while we were having dinner, then got dropped of back down the failds where id started in the morn. all a bit quiet till around 4ish when i was laid down watching a pair of ears around 50 meter away. been sat there for a good 10 mins waiting for him to give me a shoot when my scope whent blured what the pulled my eye away from the scope to see a bunni trying to hump my silencer. dont belive this. all 4 mill dots of hold under shoot of and right below the ear stone dead in a moment. silly wabbit had a fun day must hav dun around 20 miles of walking but its all good. hears the 3 stupids in the middel and hear they are baged and tagged. spilt in to 2 half for my bunni madrass and half for the cahp at the local cob shop, who in returne let me eat for free all day so 2 days free eating all in all. got my new lamp from carl so hopeing to get out again soon with the gringo. all the best lads happy hunting Andy Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Hi Andy Good shooting apart from the fluke shot. Had virtually the same start of last week I was also shooting from a fence post Again, dunno how and good on you getting to it before it scrambled off on its front legs. A lesser shooter would have blown the bucks nuts off. That'd teach it Good on you for resisting til you could take his brain out Phantom Quote Link to post
farmerkev09 105
hi andy great write up buddy and a nice bit of permision you got there happy hunting farmer Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
Good to hear your getting out mate. Unlucky about the miss shot, I personally like to fire off at least a few pellets at a target at my zero range before I go hutning, like give yourself 30 mins before or less. Nearly always my first shot is a few inches off so I get rid of any bad technique lingering about then once you feel you can take anything down that when I go hunt!! You tried that busy part of the permission in the evening yet? like 7pm onwardss? Jack Quote Link to post
