s410 wat a gun

Recommended Posts

hi all first post in the air rifle section,

went a road trip yesterday to pick up my new gun (new to me) air arms s410 in .177 dressed with a simmions 3-9x40 with air arms silencer, got that a bag, pellet pouch, stirup pump and countless pellets, got that all for £400 but had to travel 488 mile round trip.

so couldnt wait to get out with it today, so quick pump up to near 170 bar (was told that it sweet spot) and bot 6 mags later was putting 1 inch groups at 35 yards, so it was a quick call to my shooting mate swandog from here and off we went,

got to our permission and out with the guns and a quick refill of gas for me after my zeroing session, quick look in the cow sheds as usually filled with jack daws but must have knew i was coming ha,

so off we went through the farm yard to the first field a few half way up nothing to shoot at yet, so we try our luck and try and sneak up on them but they not so stupid.

we decided to see if anything in the small wood but yet again nothing, beging to think not going to get to shot alice the air arms, we sit in the wooded area for a good half hour and nothing moves,

so off i go on my own 1 way to see wat about and i spot 1 bout 100 yards so i go in to stalk mode down low move only when its head down, 90 yards, 80 yards 70 yards and it hops in to the headge damm missed so i continue to WALK down the hedge line not stalk got 25 yards were it was last seen and out hops bugs sees me and off like a shot, watch him stop out his burrow and take 1 last look as if to say haha, 1-0 bugs

meet up with swany and back down to the yard to check the tyre pile allways 1 there but this is just a bad day and decided to call it a day and i take 1 last look around and bugs has hopped on to a tyre 20 yards away so i slowly raise the baby and 1st stage of trigger took up conntroled my breathing and 1-1 bugs down not even a twitch, base of the ear shot,

with new filled confidence we decided to check 1 last field we stept in to it and bugs basically just hopped right out, but we try new tactic a nice snipping spot above a warren lay dwn and had a rest for 20 mins, swany notices 1 popping its head out goes to take aim and my phone goes off opps sorry,

so we head off to try the tyre pile on way to car and there is 4 kits and mumma sitting out so i stalk to a gate post to get a stable shot take aim, first stage off trigger, breath and 2-1 me rolled it on to its belly not a twitch, paced out this shot as was chuffed it turned out 47 yards.

unfortunitly didnt take the camera, but skinned the rabbits and gave to the farmer for his tea, but all in all great day out and really impressed with alice so cant wait to get back out with her and claim more bugs until next time all the best folks
