CarraghsGem 92
i cant make my mind up with this story; on one hand they did a great job repairing that bitch, all credit to both the insurance company + the vets i suppose that its ok to do that for your 1 and only pet etc etc, on the other hand i think the uk has become out of touch with reality, if it happened to 1 of my dogs; even my beloved house dog of 8yrs it would be a case of pts putting an animal through that amount of surgery constitutes cruelty in my eyes, dogs live in the now and that must have been hell from the dogs perspective, people keep putting human values and human emotions on to animals. its insane, a sighthound lives to run and hunt, taking that away from the dog is well...cruel p.s;- i was raised in a fluffy animal household in the uk, i know the way these people think. and my parents are among them, i like to think ive more common sense than that.... and i dont agree with a lot of their molly coddleing of animals either...... although i do believe in getting the animal treated by a vet when there is something;- fixable that i cannot take care of myself. littlefish 595
That is a lot of surgery for an animal to cope with. I wonder if it will have a pain free happy life or be riddled with arthritis in no time? I used to watch 'animal rescue' programme at tea time years ago. It showed animal charities scraping stray cats and dogs off the roads and sticking them back together then putting them up for rehoming. I had problems understanding the amount of money that must have cost, but then again, I suppose it made good tv?
