Their rainfall radar can sometimes be of use if you get your times and wind direction right. It's not infallible though.

use the met office aviation, you just need to register. You get loads of info and a very handy radar pic so you can judge for youself which I guarantee will be a better effort that the BBC weather which tends to be wrong 90% of the time.
