johnty1888 0
I found a dead Muntjac Deer in April 2011 on the beach at Hartlepool on Durhams east coast. I took several photos (still got them on my phone) as my dog -a staffy- is smelling it (It makes a good comparison for the size). I knew it was a Muntjac because it had "tusks" from the top of its mouth pointing downover. A few weeks before there was a few sightings of the "Durham Puma" which were reported in the Hartlepool Mail. (Website is Hartlpooltoday). In the summary of these reports Sergeant Eddie Bell of Durham Police- a wild life liason officer, and a guy called Ian Bond who works for Hartlepool Council (www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk /news/local/expert_expert_news_on_expert_views_on_big_cats_1_3257655 ).- says that Alien Big Cat sightings can sometimes be attributed to Muntjac deer. When I found the body on the beach I rang the local paper (Hartlepool Mail) and they more or less laughed at me... i can post the photos if u want Quote Link to post
hogdog 61
There are shit loads of them down here in Essex and the novelty has well and truly worn off, in fact they're a bit of a pest. I have to stop my Bully chasing them almost every day. They're quite shy and will hide up in brambles and thick undergrowth that I don't think most Deer could get into but he knows they're in there and will flush them out. Some of them are actually quite big, more than a challenge for most dogs I would have thought and with those tusks I'm sure they could do some damage if they caught a dog in the wrong place. I really wish they'd get rid of the ones around my way, I'd much rather see more of the native species. Edited August 25, 2011 by hogdog Quote Link to post

ban is just a word 43
im in leicestershire and only have too take a 20 minute walk and im garunteed too find muntjac, they often sprint just meters away from us at beating aswell, there not a species of deer too go looking for in my oppinion its the look of the draw there by far the most secretive of deer species and like too stick too the thick cover of woodland but the best time too find them out are proberly as its getting light and as its getting dark about that time they will be just wondering out into the open fields Quote Link to post
