natter79 17
the only powder i'm aware of (i work in pest control) is a big NO NO for rabbits as it's only legal against rodent's (rats/mice) but they're developing new product's all the time and it's possible that there is a form of contact dust out there for rabbit control. atb natter Quote Link to post
Gin 503
Its about 10 years or so ago,- white powder was being put down for rabbits. We saw one bloke doing it from a van, but don't know what the powder was. Cleared the rabbits for several years, but starting to build up numbers a bit now. Quote Link to post

MoChara 1,632
There is a powder called Pindone poison apparently it comes in liquid or powder form, the other which i think is the main one is a concentrate of hydrogen cyanide, (cymag or cyanogas) the way it was explained is that the powder form is put at the mouth of the burrow for maximum results or scatter.. think i got that right Quote Link to post

nightshiner 2
thank you mochara that was imformative if who or whoever is laying this stuff i will warn everyone on this site it is deadly once its put down nothing survives not one rabbit will be left on the ground for miles Quote Link to post
TOMO 28,653
your talking about cymag, as chalky said, its been ilegal since dec 2003 or 2004 i think. it was put down rabbit holes very often using a spoon taped to a legth of cane, put right down the hole, and the hole's blocked. it could also be pumped in to the holes . it was also a two man job in case one keeled over using it. make no mistake these gases we use in pest control are leathal not only to animals but also humans , and i have herd of people being over come in there vans Quote Link to post

MoChara 1,632
right on target TOMO i read it on the internet it said about the spoon and being extremly harmfull didnt know what year it was banned the site i saw it on i think was from the 90`s hahaha Quote Link to post
Gin 503
It was white powder down the burrows but we did not touch it, as we had an idea it was deadly stuff. Always wondered what it was called This was a bloke in a white coat, not the farmer. We were on the field watching but not close enough to see what was written on the van. THE DEMON 93
it sounds deadly with that and maxi it is hopeless there is not as much rabbits as there used to be and was out last night for a shine walked about 7 mile and only got 1 run its been really shit lately but still keeps the dogs fit atb Quote Link to post
lurchergrrl 1,441
Jesus wept but that sounds dangerous stuff .... I'm assuming that if dogs came into contact with it would be harmful to them as well. Why the hell would anybody use something like that in the countryside where other animals/people can come into contact with it?? Quote Link to post
