Rabbit shoting

Recommended Posts

I shoot the first one that comes out, I find that if you dont, and the one next to it see's whats happened and does a runner, then its educated, and may be a tadd harder to whack next time, and I leave the rabbits where they fall until I'm finished the session, or walking on, have you found a nice spot to knock a few off mate :D

I'd agree Stealthy; although many others won't.

I tend to bopp em as they show up because I'm impatient (says the man who laid up for 4 and half hours in the freezing weather  )

I just think its better to shoot rabbits as they appear, that way when another comes out to eat, all it see's is its mates laid down chillin out on the grass :D

I've watched a fox grab a rabbit while the others stood and watched, so I dont think they're put off by the smell of their friends blood, or guts. Also watched corvids ripping in to a dead rabbit while the other rabbits just carried on feeding :)

no on a serious! note

i shoot the first out! and some times i wait and let 4/5 come out.and the reason for this,if I'm using a multi shot then i can get 3 before they all disappear!

3 being my PB

I shoot the first one, and try to shoot every other one that pops its head out to see whats happening in the world.

I find that when you wait and 2 or more come out in the sunshine they start and chase each other about and play and wont sit still for a shot.

I like it when they come out, have a look about and then sit and scoff some grass.

That gives you the best shot just as they lift their heads chewing to look about.

As Davy would say TWACK

I tend to wait for long enough for the bunny to get his confidence up, hop away from his hole a bit and start eating before I shoot him. Its a fine line sometimes as i want him to be away from the hole, but if you leave it too long sometimes they scarper before you get a shot.

Yes mate this new permission i have just got there is a hedge on it where the rabbits are coming through from a wooded area at the back PLUS its ideal for a few loops :clapper:
