Guest AngelicAcid
Now we are getting somewhere, Land always pays a Large factor in the catching ability of the dog. So It would have to be a dog that was tough, good feet, flash off the mark, versatile, top turn, top strike, stamina, guts, sense and hunting ability. Quote Link to post

Guest warren
Up until maybe ten or fifteen years ago the best POT FILLERS I saw were mainly Collie type Lurchers with a touch of Deerhound and they were always my favorite. I must admit that I am now seeing some of the best pot fillers that would never see you starve. Some of them are Saluki types some of them are GSP types and some of them have a bit of every thing in them! Up to date the best I have seen have been mongrels but always with a good share of Collie blood. Regards Warren Quote Link to post

chartpolski 27,950
There's no such thing as the "ultimate pot filler", or the "ultimate all rounder", (even though I still try to find one ! LOL !). There are dogs that are great at somethings, and there are dogs that are decent at most things, but I've never seen the dog that was great at ALL things ! I had LDR's Bruce in my kennel last year for a few months, he was as near as you'd get, very good at most things. My little bitch is good at most things, fur and feather, but has her shortcomings. So; the perfect Lurcher is, to me, a mythical beast; but that shouldn't stop us from trying to find it ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
Its a pity more lurchers arnt bred like in the 70s [bANNED TEXT] the tag on the parents would be H.J.C.K.C R.H.F.D. I noticed from the 80s a lot of one trick pony type lurchers were being bred i can understand it today with this stupid ban though.atb dell Quote Link to post
