dave1372 83
I am thinking of getting some shooting sticks, first question is for a budget of £40 should I go for bipod or tripod. second question does anyone have any recommendations for any and advice on which ones I should give a miss. Cheers. Quote Link to post
Toka 10
i think it is up to you....how confident you are. i have had a single stick and am fine at the mo with my rimfire out to 115m wiht that....but sometimes i do notice a bit of movement and wish for that bit more stability. hoping to do my dsc1 soon and so got tripod sticks on my xmas pressie list. cant remember the name but similar to x3m1 do some for less than £30. the only thing is that my single stick is light and easy to put up, a bipod will be heavier and a bit more awkward, a tri pod a bit more again, but the stability should be better. a lot of the foxing stuff i help with means calling and you can set your sticks up early and you stay in one place, tripod probably the best for that, but if you are always on the move etc perhaps a lighter on would be better?? hope this has helped... The one 8,577
B+Q large metal garden canes coated in plastic with a bit of inner tube a foot from the top two or three and save pounds Quote Link to post
ross16689 1
I second the b&q garden canes. much better than extendable ones plus much cheaper. I just use a self locking nut and a couple of washers for the join and it works great. Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Garden canes jointed with a £1 exhaust rubber works a treat, and no worries when you forget to pick them up! Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
i have been playing with a few differant types and have found the tri-pod suits my style of shooting. i can set them low for seated bunny popping or high for the night time charlie when walking around. £39 from one of the mags. LR Active i think it was. had to make a few adjustments but for under £40 its sort of expected Phil. Quote Link to post
