liverpool leeds canal fishing for pike

has anyone on her every fished the liverpool leeds canal for pike on a spinner if so what colours and types have u caught them on because im thinking on trying to catch some pike

I havent fished those canals myself but try all types mate, heres one i use and caught a few pike on,Ive added the red material on the treble my self

i have had pike on the chorley stretch of the canal on small perch like plugs!!! got some carkin lures in germany called pike twisters..they did the job too!!! avent seen them for sale over here..but they are crackers!!!

I dont use spinners but ive had them on crankbaits like 6inch jakes ,shallow raiders and smaller jerkbaits, spring dawg type soft plastics are probably the best catcher for me though on the canals. Just take whatever colours you fancy, i tend to buy a light and a dark pattern when buying lures then buy other colours if they are good catchers. You can get some storm lures that are like them pike twisters Dave

Mainly for attraction ,try what ever size aswell the spinner in that pic has the netting from the ORANGES i bought from the supermarket and it works.

Try the Ultra-lite lures there spot on for predetors Large or Small.

In clear water a small plug may be the way to go.....in cloudy water a spinner i should imagine would be successful.

Used to catch a few at the Basin (Granary Wharf) in Leeds using a little plug. Nothing huge, just upto around the 6-7Lb mark. You can also drop your line into the Aire which runs at the side if things are a little quiet.
