It started off as just a bit of a lump in his eyebrow that looked strange less than a week ago and I just assumed he might have scratched it bushing or something, then it got worse and I spotted another small one near his mouth. I've had him the vets who said it could be an insect bite/sting that he's been scratching (i'm not sure though due to the one near his mouth which was a lot bigger when the vet pulled the scab off) or possibly a bit of wet eczema but i'm getting worried now coz it looks like the skin is fecked and it keeps opening up and bleeding. The vet gave him a 2 week anti biotic injection and some cream which is to be applied twice a day (really hard coz Scrap doesn't want his eye touched). Could it be some sort of mange or worms or something?

no , get it on there pronto 2-3 times a day and kill it off the longer its not treated the worse it will get , you best look for a new vet as well if your vet didnt see that was fungal the sod shouldnt be in practice or was he just out to make money pumping him full of antibiotics that are no use what so ever

Are you sure he's not been bitten? If it's ring worm there are likely to be other areas that are showing symptoms ie red, dry patches so have a good check over he rest of the dog and yourself. Old type selsun shampoo from the pharmacist rubbed in a couple of times a day on unbroken skin if you have it. What cream are you using, on the dog, ?

Hi Gnipper. If the sore ever comes back again try a product called Camrosa oil on it. I have seen dogs that "itch" themselves and that is almost identical to the result. The way i have seen such a dog cured of its skin complaint was with camrosa oil.

Good luck....JD
