andy s410c 63
Well decided to start my season off after last Sunday's poor shooting the undergrowth had dropped off a bit so i fancied a dodge up the farm.Arrived for 9:30am,slight breeze & grey sky.I started off at a new hedgerow set that i fell upon in the summer whilst shooting,as i entered the field 2 rabbits ran into the set .Netted up some 12 holes & ran a 10yd stop net up.Today i had 2 ferts 1 jill & the larger of my 2 hobs who needs to worked a bit more whilst the weights off him . Collared up & gave it 10 mins to settle, put the hob in...THUMP,THUMP 1 in the net with him racing out behind.Bolted another 1 with him & i ran the jill through the other half of the set & she bolted 4 however i lost 1 due to bad net placement . I moved into the bottom quarry & did another 2 sets in the "gut" as it's known, nothing out of one but i netted up a 20 plus holer best i could, the nettles were still high around some of the holes so i knew thats where the rabbits would come out!!!There was no way i could have put the stop net out either due to undergrowth & lie of the land...damn. Anyway the hob bolted 4 from here but i only managed to net 1 i'll get them soon tho . Ended the day with 6 healthy rabbits for very little effort...which makes a change!!! Quote Link to post
