jenksi87 3
i like to keep away from dry food as much as possible but with the warm weather it can be a problem due to the flies. i am going to put some inch x inch wood around the mesh on my ferret hutch and staple a mosquito net to it. ( the inch x inch wood to move it far enough away so the ferts cant rip it) has anybody done this? i'm sure it would give the ferrets a much better environment with no flies being able to get in ! if i can get it done tommorow i will get sum pics up Quote Link to post

deanflute 550
I did it to mine but to be honest they still find a way in, I only feed them when the sun has gone down anyway Quote Link to post
stubby 175
have used mossi net for the last few years, cuts the fly amount down some, but not totally Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Its worth giving it a try even if it just lessens the amount Quote Link to post

jenksi87 3
i cant see how any flies at all can get in providing it is attached to the wood correctly. staple touching staple (length ways of course) i am going to give it a try tommorow providing i can find a mozzy net. any ideas before i go storming about like a headless chicken askin everybody and nobody? The one 8,592
I just feed at night and have sterling fly bags each side of the hutches that cuts down the flies the only good thing i can see about this is it might provide some shade from the sun Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Tried the mesh but I felt it stopped the breeze blowing through the cages, so thought it was better to leave them open, plus its a bit more protien if the ferrets catch and eat a big fat bluebottle Quote Link to post
