Unfortunately, all the time folk buy them, they will just keep on stealing them.

the problem is where im from they actually try sell them back to the lads they stole them from and the cops do nothing about it ,to the cops thay are only muts ,not worth raiding a halting site full of crazy b*****ds over a few dogs

A worrying trend that the Police are noticing, well certainly down here in the south west, is that dogs are being stolen and held to ransom.

Their owners are in most cases reluctant to contact the Police, and are often told not to do so by the dog thiefs, so i guess that the full scale of the problem will never be known.

Its not just working dogs that are being stolen these days, and with ransom threats on the increase it makes you wonder if we are seeing sick oppertunists trying to turn over a fast buck in these recessionary times.

I have heard this as well. They ask for the license and if the person doesnt have it they take the dogs. I think they are targeting naieve women out in the country, stealing their pets!!!

If they ever tried this in my village, there will be bloodshed! We are all hunters here and keep an eye out for each other. It's a tight community. :big_boss:

do you have dog liecences over there then? ours was abolished.

Yes. But most people dont bother with them. If you are caught without one, the warden will give you a big fine.

We actually have strict laws governing certain dog breeds, especially greyhound types and other restricted breeds, but the laws arent really enforced.

Most police dont know the laws anyways!! :)
