Richie10 345
Hi, Where I live I have found a park where there are tonnes. My dog chases them but has no chance in the cover, they run her in circles and it is annoying as she ends up in the main road! In the old days how would have people caught muntjac in the day? I would have thought they would have to be driven out of the cover by other dogs like a terrier. How would people have done it at night? Would it have been single handed aswell? My recent experiences have brought up these questions and nothing I would try unless the ban is revoked. Thanks Quote Link to post

Thanks i would think in the broad daylight people would beat the cover and drive them out into an open feild, then let the dogs do the rest. J.A Quote Link to post

artic 595
I use to send one dog in to flush the munty out into the open. Once out they are pretty easy to catch. Yes they are hedge wackers and they wont stop for anything! Id keep the dog on the lead though in this present day and age when around that area, you never know who is about. There a nice beast to stalk with a rifle. Quote Link to post
Richie10 345
I know the areas they are in so will keep the dogs on the leads for the future. Not worth dead dog. thanks Quote Link to post

spartacus 22
watch out for the tusks, they could go right through your water proofs, jeans and rip your boots if you ever got close to one that is. Quote Link to post
toplamper 5
i have seen an increas in this beast up my end in darlington north east why walking the dog seen on trapped in a fence to the tusks are nasty things but we got it untrapped and let it go but checked it over before we let it go lol Quote Link to post
