  1. Well im looking to get a dog, and ive always worked gsd's and grown up with them and they have always managed all tasks. And now that "FINALLY" my licence has come i want something for retrievel but i cant bring myself to have any other breed of dog. I know that might make me stuck in my ways, but i know german shepeards very well and find it easier to know whats going on in there heads alot more. Although i have looked at labs, Im just drawn more to gsd's
  2. Well after seeing a topic on here the other day, and as ive not been there for a while i decided id go take a look. Ive got to say its got so much bigger. Picked up a few nik nack while i was there too, like gun slip cartridge bag for when my licence finally arrives. Managed to pick up a decent slip the cartridge back and cleaning kit. and i only paid £60 english pounds for it all, Il try post some pictures up later so you can see the quality for the little money i spent. Also had a revamp on the cabinets so there all lit, looks good, Well worth a trip down there if you get a few minute
  3. Was curious to know if anyone had after used a GSD as a gun dog before, As they have many talents and ive always owned or worked them for other things, This is the one thing ive never tried. And if anyone has would they recomend it?
  4. Good shooting matey. That should calm it down for probably a day, till more come and nest up
  5. Hahaha this is brilliant, Needs abit more power though
  6. Ive always used morgans for any of my shooting supplies or rifles, They have always been fantastic, They cant do enough for you. Always chuck in loads of free things with any gun purchases. Ive also ordered online with them and its always got to me the next day. Very happy with my service
  7. Thank you for all the kind messges
  8. Alot of it is from breeding. Breeders trying to get a more curved rear end to the dog. But yes most of them or pritty much all the shepeards ive grown up with and worked, have all had bad hip problems, sad really, as a previous comment statted there brains are still as sharp as a whip. And sam just longed to work and be around me. was heart breaking to watch. yeh that's what I was told, they try to breed from low hip scores from gen after gen . not saying you want get bad hips with East/Europe lines , as its in the breed anyway . But you got a lot better chance of not getting most gsd
  9. This is me and my old working sheperd sam. We worked together for a good ten years. And he sadly had to be destroyed two years ago due to major hip probelms. I had him from 7 months old. And possibly the only thing in my life i trusted to the end, Saved my ass more times then i can count. This pup was more then just a dog to me. Here he is about 12 months before he passed.
  10. Im not saying that the .22lr would not kill, its more the fact the firearms offier may not grant it because of its calibre for the purpose he wishes to use it.
  11. For now as everyone says, Stick to the basics, small amount of obediance and house training and good varied healthy diet. Tripe is ok but i wouldnt feed him that all the time. You need to keep his intrest high by trying new games, even if its hiding and finding his favourite toy around the house to start and help him by leading him in the right direction so he has to use his nose where your going,
  12. I had a few shots with a hw100 at midland game fair this weekend. I have to say its an impressive little air rifle, and i would highly recomend it to anyone who wants a pre-charged air rifle.
  13. Unfortunatly i had the dis-pleasure of watching one of my girlfriends relatives on this the other week. If anyone saw Jack Jenkins on there about two weeks ago? Its a shame really as he has a great talent , and that he had to bring himself to xfactor to try get out there. But hopefully now someone will see some of his music. Heres a link to his channel anyway. https://www.youtube.com/user/jackjenkinsmusic Other then that. I never watch the program, it was simply to see if he got through or failed hah.
  14. Id really recomend something of a higher calibre for foxing, maybe .222 or .223. Although .17HMR is capible of doing it. You would require a shorter distance. And the firearms officer may not grant or add the variation to your licence if he think your going to try to hunt foxes with a .22lr.
  15. I went to the show on sunday, It was a good day out, took the mrs with me who had never been to one before, and she loved every minute of it. Was impressed by the shows put on with the working dogs. Did anyone else see the show from the guy who had the cocker spaniel with three legs. Was impressed by that little dog, "spicy" i think his name was. Picked up a couple of bargins for me and the good lady too
