I do the same runs an gates all the time..the runs through sheep wire iv bits copper cooker wire to hold fox net up an s hooks perminatly fixed to sheep wire. for ends of the draw cords iv no pegs on the nets anything hits the net it going nowhere

lot of gates I do you couldn't get pole into the ground..concrete round the posts or stoned lanes well used by farm machinery ..these work perfect easy made a left at the side gate for next trip.
