Thanks Heritage ill have a look

Heritage do you know where in this country i could get some good crimper's / swaggers as mine have given up the ghost, I can get them from the us but as venum says its the postage on heavy stuff that costs a lot, I don't really want the hand held ones that look like terminal crimps as ive found them to be very unreliably Thanks

your right Matt hes not, ive known Bob for more than 40 years he's a true gent never once have I heard him boast about what he does and he now turns more jobs down than he takes on, he's that much in demand He traps moles in 3 counties cumbria lacashire and northumberland The man was even called to a wildlife park once to trap a wallaby( i kid you not) that had escaped into another area, bet there's not many that could say that, He traps, snares, ferrets, and shoots in a blue boiler suit with not a hint of camo in sight and he's a man you can always get on the phone to ask advice on a huntin -

Roll On September Snares Ready Hares Ready ?
volpe replied to MR TEA POT's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
i put a colean line in between my strands of brass as full size strong hares can break normal rabbit snares, just my opinion, When i first started i lost a few hares to snapped brass and a old time trapper taught me that trick and ive never lost one since -
i didnt know you left them to die on the tacky stuff thought you had to check them and dispose of the little blighter
-
Yeah they can get out if there young they sort of get a head and shoulder through first and the rest follows but your biggest problem is the call bird it will spend its days trying to get out and you end up with a bird with bald patches over its head and a damaged beak

I agree some 4x4s have a plug to put in the bell housing before you go wading helps keep the water and shite out

For directly putting on the Hens use Noramectin couple of drops on the skin kills lice and worms all in one go, I do mine when they go through the malt about nov/dec time when they stop laying, other wise withdraw the eggs for seven days atb Volpe

-
Thanks heritage it's nice to have a nice healthy debate about things
-
Thank you heritage as you can see from the pic the tape cant lie its only 15 half inches long how long do you make your tealers ? same question for Teapot? cause the snares I bought are not fit for purpose, Thanks everyone for your input, I've always made my own snares but I bought these snares because people raved about them and to be honest im disappointed with what I received, another thing is if its just the tealer thats ghost Teapot i am at a loss as why a piece of fence wire sprayed green has all of a sudden got a fancy name Im not trying to cause a argument and trying to ridicule peop
-
ok here we are what kind of snares are these ? are they proper ghost snares or have I been duped atb Volpe
-
ive made the tealer longer its now on a 21in tealer which when set in soft ground gives me 10 inches off the ground, as i said its only got a 15 half inch tealer with a 9 inch loop so if you put it in the ground 1 inch that leaves 14 half inches of tealer and a 9 inch loop now forgive me for being thick 14 and half take away 9 your left with 5 half inchs roughly off the ground, granted bending the top of the tealer up might give you another inch but no way could i get it to ten and this cant be a one of because i bought a few and there all the same. time to call bushwear i think
-
So again I'm asking the question the one I've bought wich is the same as the link to bushwear and the tealer is fifteen and half inches long and you can get a maximum 9 inch loop is it a ghost snare or not? Cause I won't be happy with bushwear if it's not because that's what it was sold as
-
that snare you show there teapot is a different one to mine and different to the first pic you showed so is it just the tealer thats ghost?
