    I can't speak for the Beretta boots, but have seen bad reports of Le Chameaus just lately, saying they have started using cheaper materials etc. I can report on both the Meindl Dovre Extreme and the Lowa Mountain GTX though, got a pair of each, no preference between them although the Lowas are easier to clean when muddy. Have had cheap boots in the past and you really do get what you pay for. Mr Jigsaw .. these leather ankle boots you like .............. they wouldn't be patent leather with stilletoe heels would they?

    As Snap Shot says, D3 has loads of niggly problems, and some not so niggly, like the wiring looms are well below standard and fail regularly, loads of other problems, got a very good mate that is an LR Tech at local main dealer. Best bet is to get a late D2, they are well sorted and reliable (but try for one with no sun roofs! ) Can't help with the auction though sorry!

    at the moment maplin have car jump starters for 19.99 that contain a 12 volt 17 amp battery, just take the battery out out of the said contraption. used in conjunction with a 6 amp charger you will have hours of nocturnal fun.. I saw those posted on another site, the big yellow jump start thing, but unfortunately ........... they don't seem to be on the Maplin site anymore.
