  9. im bored with this lab, danw isnt there something else we can drag out for another 7 pages
  10. dont get me wrong most were between 24 and 26 which is what i would normally expect but 2 from 8 were small, obviously threw towards the whippit in the bitch, the problem now is ive got to breed again this year as my youngest dog here has just turned 4, do i put him across his auntie and breed true to line or outcross to pure or 3/4 cross as poacher says?
  11. have not found that here the last litter i bred,i did as poacher3161 said and used a 3/4 cross the resulting pups varied between 26 down to 21tts
  12. why exactly? not saying I think that's wrong, just don't understand why you think that's necessary.....why does the lurcher in your running dog need thinning down??? it's kind of implying that you can have too much good breeding in a dog, I don't get it. the problem after a while is litter spread so get so much variation in size, so a greyhound mating is needed for a bit of stabilisation
  13. a lurcher thats done abit will work just like that note there is collie in my lurchers
  14. at least your in admission now
  15. mainly due to spaniels breeding true to type, this is not the case with lurchers as there makeup is endless. there is no way a spaniel could do what i ask of my lurchers and to quote your good self anyone who thinks they could is deluded
  16. we have a large flock of them in a hedge over the road, i never tire of watching them, they all dart into the bushes as soon as something the size of a blackbird flys over. starling numbers have declined dramaticly here over the last few years. i was shooting yesterday afternoon down the wood and the amount of small finch`s and blue and long tailed tits was unbelivable.
  17. the problem is most havent seen a good allround lurcher, only point and slip. ive taken people off this site out with mine and there always surprised at their hunting ability.
  18. totally agree on that, i think bitza lurcher to lurcher are better
  19. i can honestly say i enjoyed yesterday, the first time ive actually enjoyed shooting in a long time. not many birds but all quality shots.
