The bone man said the stuff he put in is stronger than his ligerment was, mine bust all the ligerments in his knee only skin muscle and bone when I took him in. -

My dog done similar thing I got the op done cost us a grand so far, done it the end of last season the bone man said he will work again but not to his full potential. Wish I had PTS some times when he's missing work but still good hopes so it's wether u want to take the gamble, It wasn't elastic the vet used its some kind of super cord, were bouts are you ? -
Lol that's the bit I'm dreading I'll have to get in with the big daft lump and Redcar is defiantly cold this time of year :-o
-
Just before the opp a cat thought it'd walk through me garden, dog forgot he only had 3 legs till he stopped then yelped so I know what you mean about them getting ahead of them selves mate! There's no pools round hear that a lurcher can use bud but soon as the vet says the skins sealed we'll be looking like twats swimming togeather at the local beach lol
-
His opp was done by a top bone man round hear so I'm confident he's had the best treatment I can give him just the recovery now, he's taking to it better than I expected starting to use the leg softly very slow walking gunna work on that and build it up over the summer hopfully :-D
-
And what size they stand at?
-
Can I ask how much a proper working deerhound pup goes for?
-
Cracking pic were there facing up

glad you said that mate seen the vet again today give us some exercise tips to recovery, he said the dog just needs to re learn how to use his leg it isn't painful just aquard for him. I will put the time and effort into the dog and if he can be brought to working fitness again I'll get him there :-). can I pm you please?
-
be ok for that I would think , prob enjoy that and maybe the odd bolter , but not to many .We do a fair bit of ferreting togeather, a good pal said the same thing still got a good noes on him so even if he'll not run much could still be a handy member of the team, I think he needs some form of work to keep him going. Good retriever and all so if he doesn't run well again I could use him for other bits and bobs

Thanks lads, I was in 2 minds before the opp for pts but he's a cracking pet lives in the house had him from 6wks, the wife and biern wouldn't speak to us. Only reason I got the opp was the vet said he'd still live a good pet life but not likely to graft again, thought he was gunna have it chopped off yesterday I told the vet to pts if he lost the leg but just fluid build up
-
The elastic bands might make him faster ;-p
-
Thanks mate I'm devestated was looking forward to next season I recon he would have proven a decent dog just starting to find his feet in the field, there's hope yet like mate.
-
Hi iv had a bit of bad luck with me dog only 1 season under his belt showing good signs of being a decent grafter then couple of weeks ago smashed into a tree after his quary, long story short both crucia ligerments f***ed had them replaced with bands, good bone man done them at a fair price but says it's unlikely to graft again. Anybody had this and had the dog working well after?
-
haha dont worry ive got thick skin haha ill tell him that when i see him tomorrow. haha yeah they both will get there, atb matelol I'm 28! How you doing Andy, Steve said your having a good season mate :-D?
-
Because they have a lot of good land, nice flat fields tidy hedgerows, ATM I can do a couple of fields then stop at the fences, with there permission I could go for miles around. They don't like people on there land lots of break ins n dead sheep, understandable really. I work full time no need for me to charge plenary other people will do it for free or pay so why make it harder for myself to get more permission ?
-
I think you have misunderstood my post. If mole trapping was as simple as spending £15-£20 on a few traps how do you think professionals would ever make a living? You will not help the landowner or win any brownie points if you are there day after day catching nothing and simply making his moles more trap shy. I have seen it time and time again, my husband tried for weeks, our gardener had a go, the neighbour up the road tried, my mate told me how to do it, etc, etc,...... then they called a professional, who had a right job and charged more because amateurs had made their task a lot
-
I have ferreting permission that's got a big problem with moles, the farm next door which I'd like permission on dosnt like strangers at all, I was thinking if they knew I was helping out with all the pests them might be more inclined to let me ferret and lamp there, thought it was worth ago.
-
No doubt deker professionals will do it much better than an armature like myself but I'm just trying to help the land owner out and earn some browny points, I don't know how much it costs to have a professional do the job but I'm guessing it would be cheaper if I done it then if they get moles again later on the traps are there ?
-
lol wouldn't cost me nout to shoot I ferret it and will never pay for permission of any kind! 1 trap costs a fiver 20 traps will cost me 100 quid I can better spend pal and u shouldn't be doing any hunting if you can't set a mole trap
-
That's the idear the farm next to my permission isn't overkeen on me ferreting but might just persuade them if I do some moles to? I wouldn't ask for money for the traps just get them to buy the traps so I don't have to shell out and if they go missing I'm not out of pocket. How many traps do you's set a time, these alfields have a big problem with the moles?
-
Hi, do you lads make the owner pay for the mole traps or supply them yourselves? My permission has rabbits and moles was thinking about trapping the moles as I already do the rabbits to keep the owner happy but I dont wanna be out of pocket but I also don't want to sound like a cheeky t**t asking for them to shell out if no one else does lol?
