  1. I do respect all quarry. My dog was injured around March time, as you will know the Rut occurs around September-October
  2. All you have to do to find out which pellet is best is order a sample pack from Pellpax. You will get a load of different packs of pellets with 10 in each packet and some targets to try them out on.Then all you have to do is try the selections through your gun and find out which pellet is best for your gun.You can also use a chrono to find out what power each different pellet makes through your gun. Most barrels can vary from each gun as to what pellet is best out of them.
  3. Seen a few dogs killed over the years when running Reds not just when they are in the Rut but all the year round.A few mates have lost dogs to Fallow and others have lost them to Roe and even Munties.I put a pic up on here earlier in the year of a Red Stag I had got with two litter mates. What I didnt know at the time was that my dog had been kicked good style in the side.I thought he was ok then a few weeks later a big lump came up on his side.I took him to the vets he had an operation (£350).All seemed fine then about a month after the operation the lump came up again.I took him to a differe
  4. If rabbits are so hard to catch why do we all start our pups off on them ? Ive always started every lurcher Ive ever owned with rabbits then progressed onto bigger and better things.
  5. There on gamerooster.com.Theres 4 different sizes from $12 upto $17.
  6. A 177 pellet is lighter than a 22 pellet. So a 177 pellet can be fired at a higher feet per second than a 22 can be fired. The heavier 22 pellet needs less air to take it up to the 12ft/lbs limit than the 177 pellet does. Also the faster the pellet travels the more accurate and less loopy the trajectory of it is.That is why the 177 is more accurate than the 22 also.
  7. I had a good first cross bed/greyhound,I now run BullX.Lots of different crosses of lurcher take Fox with ease.Ive seen good collie x good Deerhound x Just about every type of lurcher will take fox. Some take to it more easily than others.
  8. Im now using a Theoben Evolution .20 fitted with a hawke nite eye 4-16x50 and a Daystate X2R Sport .20 fitted with a Bushnell Legend 5-15x40
  9. Ive just checked with my mate who owns the other pup and he says they were 10 month old at the time
  10. I had my Bullx pup and his litter mate out with some older dogs one night and was letting them watch the older dogs running the Deer just to introduce them and give them an Idea of what I expect from them.My two mates had slipped there dogs onto a herd of Fallow and they had dispersed in all directions. As they were walking the fields one way I was walking sort of into were the other lads had been about 20 mins before.I was just scanning the feilds with the lamp and I picked out a hind walking up the fence looking a bit as though it was on wobbly legs so I slipped both the young dogs and they
  11. Mackem mate Ive bought a Yukon NVMT Monocular 4x50.Im using it with an infa red set up on me lamp and it is Ideal.I can see everything that I want to and can see a lot further than the distance I would be slipping the dogs at.I think the monoculars have a bit more range than binoculars thats why I got one.I got it off ebay from a power seller in the USA and saved £100 on the price of the same unit over here.

The biggest fight out there for Joe is to fight the Dane Mikkel Kessler. The Dane has the other 2 belts in Joes division so its all to fight for.Plenty of reasons there to get himself motivated, there both unbeaten in there careers so far aswell. As for Bernard Hopkins he is rumoured to be fighting Oleg Maskaev at heavyweight.

  16. A friend of mines dog has started to chew the pads on its feet,Im just wondering what you lads think coulld be causing the dog to do this.He is taking it in to the vets today but he just wanted an idea before he goes.A lad I know said it could be too much protein and another said it could be just boredom. Thanks for anyreplies.

    Bull X

All the lads that I know thats bred the first cross also know the breeding of both prents.I wouldn t breed from any type of dog unless I knew the breeding of it etc.
  19. Ive got a Theoben Evolution in .20 and also just bought a Daystate X2R Sport also in .20.Ive used .22 air rifles for years but now like this calibre.Only problem is not a great choice of pellets if you use a FAC rifle in this calibre. Both mine are 12ft/lb so there is no problem with pellets.I use JSB Exacts and HN FTT.

    bulb

You can get them from Cluson the bulbs are the same as in the Lazerlite,or you can get them from Ebay. Its upto you if you use a 100 watt bulb or a 55 watt bulb. They need to be a xenon bulb so make sure they are if you get them off Ebay. Not sure about a holder though, you could try Deben or one of the dealers that advertise in the CMW.
  21. On the side of my Ivomec bottle it tells you the recommended dosage. Cattle 1ml per 110lb body weight. Swine 1ml per 75lb body weight. I know a lot of lurcher and terrier lads that use Ivomec and also a few Greyhound lads that use it.I also know a few people who use it on there chickens, just a couple of drops on there skin and its fine.
