    For hunting with a springer I normally Zero my airgun kneeling as that is the position that I normally shoot a springer from, if using my AA400 I Zero prone off a bipod

    At the moment I can live with it untuned until I get to see someones HW98 that has been tuned and see whether it will be worth the investment. Buy one you won't be disappointed..

    Falcon AP are the best pellet for my HW77 but not for the HW98. My HW98 is very smooth but does twang a bit. Still cannot make up my mind whether to have it tuned or fettle it a bit. Like the stock as it can be adjusted to make the fit better. Lovely rifle and worth the money IMO

    Hi White Rabbit, I have a HW98 in .177 which I have had for a few months (not tuned) and just attached a couple of pics on the Airgunforum (thread HW98 pellets) of some 5 shot groups that I shot this morning outside in a breeze at 36 yards which you may like to look at to give you an idea what is possible for an un-tuned HW98. Skot Nice group there mate, what pellets are you using?

    I have just got a HW98 in .177 and I am well chuffed with it. Achieved a 3 shot group not much larger than a single pellet. (Photo on Verminhunters TV facebook page). It i s straight out of the box and twangs a bit but is very accurate with JSB's 4.52

    Have a look at the Muck Boot Tay Sport. Had these for 2 winters are excellent for keeping feed nice and warm and are also good for walking in.

    Hi Skot. I am like you left handed and a weird shape(not so weird but large) and have just placed an order with my local RFD for a HW98 as it is adjustable to help fit better Still waiting for delivery date from him.. I did think about getting one from SFS already tuned but still dont have enough cash but Tony did say 6-7 weeks tuned so if you don't want the extra delay order from SFS

    Thanks guys for the replies and to you Porkybella for the offer to try yours. Unfortunately I live in Suffolk so quite a distance to travel but thanks all the same for the invite. I have already contacted Tony Wall for a quote for the rifle already tuned and is a bit cheaper than buying and sending him the gun at a later date. I would love to go and visit him after watching VHTV videos about SFS so may go the route of having it already tuned and visiting SFS (330 mile round trip). Tony says current turnaround of 6-7 weeks which would give me a bit of time to save for the extra cost of the tune

    Hi this is my first post on here but I have been reading the posts for a few months. I am thinking about getting a HW98 in .177 which seems to be getting popular on here. Please can anyone tell me what they are like straight out of the box as I now have enough money to purchase one. or should I save for the extra and get a SFS stage 1 tuned or wait until the one out of the box has been used for a while. The rifle will be used primarily for hunting. Any info would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance

    Pianoman, This is my first post on here but I have been browsing the site for a couple of weeks now. I have been following the thread on here about you not being a happy bunny with SFS but it is good that you are now happy with the outcome. Glad to see that you are a man after my own heart. Takes a long time to complain and then willing to give credit and thanks when sorted. I have been in the consumer industry for nearly 30 years and there are more people who will complain at a drop of a hat but will not give thanks when sorted.
