    paulsmithy83.you seem to forget you are adding greyhound blood to the mix who have got very high prey drive .so some of the offspring will inherit the high prey drive

    one of my dogs looked more or less pure gsd hardly any running dog in him he caught more than some greyhoundy lurchers. three quarter collie quarter running dog will catch rabitts pheashant partridge foxes .if clever they could catch deer preban.you know it wont cut easy it should be very clever it wont lack stamina and should be good in the lamp.i have had threequarter reverse crosses and they can be a good mouching dogs.also they do not attract unwanted attention.if a threequarter gsd or collie came up i wouldnt turn it down .if it was proven to be a geniune cross

    paid.they have been clocked at 40 mph so i should think in open fields they should run ok .also if brought up differently they might not yap .the barking may be a learned habit from the older dogs.it would be intresting to find out if the yapping is a genectic trait or not

    banter.my brother had a whippet lurcher with about a quarter bull in it he was only about 20 at the shoulder.heavy built but he could run he was not as fast flat out as the bigger 27 inch dogs but he allways followed up from the rear .and was a genuine little dog he was very good on rabitts tho.in coursing hares preban l allways found thaht a good big dog allways was a lot faster than a good little dog ;a mini cooper along the m1 is fast but its not when a v8 supercharged jag gets up its rear end.tho the mini cooper would go round bends better than a jag . when the bigger coursing dog who has

    not very many good dogs are sold .most dogs sold are not up to the job .dogs are often offered for sale i dont think anyone ever sells a really good dog.i have had dogs which by most were considerd good but to me they were only average. i allways gave a demo of the dog and if they were happy with it fair enough .some of the best dogs i had were gifted to me as pups from friends so i allready had a idea of thier possible abilities
