ive done some sloe gin, brandy, bramble whisky and wanted to try somthing different and i found a recipe for rowan liquer. Made with rowans, voddy, cinnampm, clove and a bit of lemon zest. Left for 6 months, strained then left again for 4 months. Has anyone ever tried this. Recipe sounds as if end stuff might be like aftershock?

Sometimes the cockeral pushes his luck waking us up at 3am so not all idyllic! And in the winter storms a bedsit in Torry sounds just fine! Dosent matter wether we live in the country all of us appreciate our rural surroundings and want to protect our sports and countryside. And just to be allowed to do what we do without any fecking grief would be nice.

Beautiful Autumn day, colours amazing. Stags roaring their heads off 2 fields from house. Goose breast marinating for supper tonight, followed by pancakes with homemade rosehip syrup. Young cockeral coming on nicely and plump. Terriers doing good job keeping rats down round farm and gundogs 1st outing out tomorrow, if partner is on form may well bring home a birdie or two! Sat on the farmgate listening to stags this morning and couldnt belive how lucky i was to live this but sadened at how there are those that would destroy this way of life plus very sad for the farmers who are struggling

Australorps or Plymouths?
Groverdog replied to Simoman's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
ive got welsummers, light sussix chooks and bantams and a couple of peking bantams. The pekins are supposed to be really friendly but are still quite young and gettingused to me. Have to say the light sussixs and wellsummers are really friendly but havent found the wellsummers to be good layers. Saw the sebrights at the local mart liked them alot but thought they were too specialised for my novice poultry skills. -

If i could i would move to the Alaska Interior tomorrow but immigration to States more difficult now. Not alot of work there. Will have to make do with saving pennies and have a holiday there one day. Love Scotland but Labour is sh*te and fecking up this great nation.

We had the message from Defra too to say all claer. From what i understand COBRA are meeting at 5pm guess they will decide on any movement rescrtions then. Cattle prices were on the way up. Autumn sheep sales starting and backlog of animals waiting slaughter. We have the best meat/agricultural industry in the world and its heartbreaking to see it get fecked like this.

Just as Surrey was declared free of Foot & Mouth, another suspected case 30 miles from initial outbreak. Fingers crossed eh. Agri industry does not need this.

I am not and never going to be a parent but have to agree with most. If i was then never would i leave them alone while i went out on night out. Not just for someone snatching them but in a strabge place/building i would worry about fire. Cant understand why they refused a sitting service. He stated on arrival back to uk they played no part in the disaperance of Maddie but in my mind they did but leaving her alone in the first place. I hope to God they find the Lass and shes alive and well. As for the Portugese well when we go to a strange country we have to accept their laws and

I didnt see the program and although i could not bear to watch a dog fight i agree with Molly. These dogs are bred to fight and as such the dogs themselves dont see it as being cruel. Its an exagerated form of natural behaviour. The cruelty comes in because humans are training them and from what i understand using weaker small dogs as bait. Then as to what method is used to pts an injured fighter. If two dogs were fighting in the local park the publics only concern would be that so called aggresive dogs were on the loose not fear FOR the dogs. I dont agree with it but like Molly said the full f

Hope you find out what did that. I suppose it would be naive to think there are no big cats out there but in reality from sightings and kills it looks like there are. And dont some species of big cat wedge kills in trees. There are those Kellas cats about arnt there? Could they have done something like this? If it turns out to be a dog obviously it has to be dealt with and its owner. Farmers struggle enough without this sort of thing happening.

Thank you so much guys and nice to know the gun ive got is a good un. Am ringing our local gunsmith today to get it in for a full once over and service. I will certainly be doing alot of practise and i am a bit nervous with guns ie making sure i make a clean kill. I also have a left master eye (apparently) so i am shooting off my left shoulder as i cannot close my left eye while keeping my right open. Is that a common problem? Ive no idea how to work the laser scope that came with it hopefully the Gunsmith will not think i am a coomplete idiot when i ask him! Thanks again i'll ke

Oh aye they are the biggest problem here too.Dont mind drivers going past fast just as long as they go wide so if horse spins then youve room. Raking about the farm ans staring into house. Someyimes wish i could find out where they live and traspe through their gardens see how they like it. Meet some nice ones too though and if they are a good bunch i will give them some eggs to take home.

Grockles. I havent heard that one in years. sitting here big smile on gob with that one.

Your rural life sounds lovely, at this time of year with all the holiday makers around i wish my life was a bit more rural. I dont deny its great. Only thing about it is if i have an accident noone would know about it. Last winter was a bitch with gales and doing the horses, dogs and other beasts while slates are coming off the roof in the dark was a fair bit scary.Got knocked down by one of the horses thought the end was ngh In the summer at the weekend we too get walkers (or bonglies as they are not so affectiontly known) who think its ok to trapse through the yard instead of us

I bought myself a webley omega .22 air rifle a couple weeks ago to help the rabbit and rat conrol on the farm. I am new to air rifles and wondered if you could help me out. Its quite an old rifle that came with a scope, silencer and a laser scope called a 'single point' made by telepoint (great britain) ltd. At the moment i am practising on targets until i feel confident using it on live prey. I have concerns that i will not make a clean enough humane kill and would appreciate any advice as to how effective this make of rifle is what pellets i should using, if i should get the ri
