  1. Been getting quite a few messages lately about catties but had a lot on with work. Managed to get these two done. Last I'll have for a while I think. Both ash forks. The first has a sapele and oak layered handle. The second a sapele cap. Single 30mm straight tbg for both hunting and targets Wanting £23 for the first one and £20 for the second. That's posted

  3. Just cut your gold thinner or your grey wider
  4. Use the minimum amount of rubber possible basically
  5. More elastic doesn't mean more power. It's all about how you match the bands with the ammo. I've only used single bands and 9.5 steel for the last year and I take a fair head of game
  6. Got an English pointer pup that I'm intending to work under the hawk. Anyway today I took the pup out and shot a rabbit with the catty and filmed him retrieving it. From the day we got him he's always had a natural instinct to retrieve fetching his toys first call. After putting a video of him on facebook I've been told to never do it again as it will ruin him when I come to work him with the hawk. It will make him want to chase game rather than leaving it for the hawk? What's peoples thoughts on this? I'd rather him work with the hawk than pick up game on a mooch so I need some tips as he's m
  7. Always nice getting a good size natural fork to make a frame out of! I bought a natural Yew Topshot off YCHB earlier this year and its still my fav catty. Im making a Hawthorne one myself now. Ive made R10 and Mule frames out of natty forks too. I,d rather have any frame' made out of a natural fork Still going strong then haha. Probably the best frame I've made that any pics of it http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/339924-yew-top-shot/

  10. I hope so mate. Just the new place isnt right for an aviary. I'm proper gutted tell you the truth
  11. Looks like my thinking ends here. Have to move house and at least for this season I won't be keeping a bird. Have to sell the female earlier than I would've liked :-(
  12. Thanks lads I will do and cheers ant I'll let you know if I don't get sorted
  13. Wondering if anybody on here would be able to cut me a catty out of some 12mm ally sheet? Will pay obviously. Thanks
  14. I can go and see a golden eagle fly whenever I want pal without all the hassle so I'll leave it haha
  15. That's an option as I've a mate with a breeding pair. But still if I flew one of them something would still be wanting me to fly a pure red haha. I will just have to see what comes up
  16. I've got a good mate thats flown gosses for years so I will be fine with him as regards to moving on to one of those. Think I need to see a red fly first and see what happens. Another thing swaying me is the pointer pup. Once he's working it will be nice to have a hawk that can take the pheasant and partridge he will hopefully be flushing. Got tI'll next year to sort something out so we will see
  17. I'm really torn with this now haha. I know eventually I will fly a gos and my mate keeps saying to get one as I won't look back when I do and he's flown them years. But a red is something I've always wanted to fly. Decisions lol
  18. I don't think so or at least no where near as much. I've seen a gos fly on ferreted rabbits it's like they stick to them. Most are caught within seconds of the bolt with what I've seen so on the lamp you wouldn't have much a chase at all I wouldn't think.
  19. Also I've been our with a gos loads of times mate and I know they are 100% on the list bit I'm just not sure with my job at the minute if I could do one proper justice
