  1. Only thing though mate i would be lamping the gos 5 days a week. Don't you think that's abit of a waste for them? They make rabbits look easy enough through the day let alone lamping.
  2. That's the problem mate the harris is just too easy and bomb proof. No challenge in it. The excitement is still there for the chase but everything is just seems too repetitive. Need a fresh start to get it going again. Truth be told I'd rather have a gos especially now I've got the pointer pup but lamping wise I'm not sure that's what I would want to do with a gos
  3. Hiya lads as you've probably seen from my other posts I've currently got a female Harris. She's doing well but I've got to the point where I fancy a new challenge. Will always love flying the harris' but I want to try something different. Been thinking of a female redtail for hares and squirrels and the usual rabbiting. Any of you lads flown one? How did you find it. Was thinking of flying a goshawk but I do too much lamping to fit around work and I feel like a goshawk is overkill for the lamp. Thanks lads
  4. Ye I do all the time. Or forget to switch it on at flights haha
  5. My channel if you want to subscribe and keep up to date https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSCdDGQKyWmqvMtT6NAMCvQ
  6. The clip as promised. Love this little action cam. Bloody long flight for the lamp aswell
  7. Kill number 8 tonight. Also got a clip of a rabbit catch I'll put it up tomorrow. Cheers lads
  8. It's where I've broke it's neck and ripped it open. But ye I just thought on with people knowing my catty background they will think summat amiss. Need to sort out a mount for the go pro to slide on my hat. Next thing on my to do list
  9. Also I feel like I have to say this, after looking at the picture of Freya it looks as though the pigeons been shot in the neck. Honestly it really wasn't and she pulled it herself with 2 witnesses 1 of which is on the forum. Don't want people thinking I'm a bullshitter haha.
  10. Also excuse my spelling and grammar mistakes I'm on my phone and autocorrect actually makes things worse. Doesn't look good for somebody with an A-level in English lol
  11. Made of hard stuff us yorkshire lads haha.
  12. Not done much with Freya lately as the weather's been shit and suitable slips on the lamp hard to come by. Too many foxes about the lurcher lads round here must be shite haha. The weather was nice today. Sunny with abit of a breeze. Was about to head off with mine when my mate called to see if I would go out with him and his second year eagle. So decided to go give him a hand. The Eagle hadn't had a kill so far. Anybody who knows about them will know they are slow to mature and their first few seasons aren't always the best. Anyhow we walked a few fields and the Eagle had a 2 half hearted at
  13. Think I'm gonna put a deposit down the end of the season for a German female. Had my time with the Harris. Glad to see you get good results lanping her. Makes up a good majority of my hunting
  14. Cut at 7 inch then maxed out to past my head resting the band against my cheek. 9.5 steel ball bearings
  15. I usually tape the bell up and fly with reflective jesses but I seem to have misplaced them so bells it is until I get them sorted. The flashing lights are no good imo
  16. Thanks mate and sorry about that here's the proper link for everybody else
  17. Feel free to subscribe to my channel. Will be uploading more catty hunting vids and also other types of hunting. Already some shooting and hawking on there The vids not very clear. Blame the distance and cover for that but you can hear the hit and see it drop https://youtu.be/-R8L_QMuRWU
  18. As promised some footage of the hawk. This is the only good video I got and it happens to be a miss haha. Still learning the ropes with the action cam. Got it mounted on the lamp itself now so I should be getting some quality footage. Subscribe to my channel to see more when it's uploaded https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=mVZgPcEZB9U
  19. Picked Jäger up Saturday afternoon. Forgot how stressful it is having a pup. Sick of wiping piss and shit up haha. Can't wait to start working him. As soon as he's jabbed up he will be comin on short walks with the hawk to get her used to him
  20. I know you was pal im not that slow hahaha.
  21. Too right. Might be my last season with this bird. Feel like after this season I've done my time with Harris hawks. Ready to move on to a different style of hawking. Gos or spar for me I reckon
  22. Hahaha. I was lookin at the gwp pointers mate but a good mate of mine had these english pointers and I've seen the mum work and she's a cracking dog. Either way any pointer is better than none haha. Anyway got kill number 6 tonight. Would have been 7 if my mate didn't let his hawk off to "help" mine out on a rabbit she took on a pretty long slip. Only thing she helped out with was pulling my bird off the rabbits and letting it run free lol
  23. Kill 6 last night. The way she's hitting on the lamp is unreal. Like a falcon strike haha. Got some footage aswell I'll sort it when I can be arsed lol
  24. Kills 3,4 and 5 last night on the lamp. Flew the rabbits well. Also pleased to say I've just put a deposit down on an English pointer pup. Meet Jäegar, pick him up next week. Right age now ready to start next season with the hawk.
  25. They aren't graded like dankung bands are mate. I know where you get he tubes in 30m lengths but sworn to secrecy by the seller haha. He's a mate of mine
