    Got this pheasant BEFORE it got dark and ON PERMISSION. M 8 hexnut to the noggin Picture was taken on the walk home once it was dark with the camera flash no lamps or torches involved. Thanks

    Sorry for not updating the thread. Have been banned from posting for a week anyway freya has been doing well Kill number 8: Had a track down on a pheasant she flew into the wood. Found her after 10 mins of searching. She had dragged the pheasant under the log. Luckily found her before it got dark as the sun was just going Kill number 9: Partridge after a short and sharp mugging Kill number 10: Caught a jay in the woods. New species for me so was well chuffed. Pretty little birds. Took it off the bird though as I didn't see the point in killing it. So no pic unfortunately

    It's also illegal to 'take' certain birds at 'night'. Night is defined as one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise (Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981). I'd like to see the exact legislation for this because I've looked at the various wildlife acts and the general licence and can't find anything to support this, in England anyway. All I can find is that its illegal to use artificial light to take birds unless they are feral pigeons. In which case using moon light when roosting is perfectly legal.

    Shoots good for anything up to 10 mm lead in my experience mate, with the cold weather im thinking of going over to them myself again
